20.01.2022 We are sure everyone is looking forward to 28/11/2020 when parkrun starts again in Queensland. South Toowoomba parkrun will start again at the usual time of 7am, at this stage we are still awaiting approval for the park from Toowoomba Regional Council, hopefully that’s just a formality. A large amount of work has been done by parkrun Australia in order to get approval for reopening of events in Queensland and one of the conditions is that we need to conform with the industry... COVID plan for Queensland. Some of the changes will be: - scan event QR code (would be used for contact tracing and parkrun would like to see high % uptake). - pre-event briefing to be kept to a maximum of 2 minutes with all participants socially distanced. - go to start point and start immediately. - do not come to parkrun if you don't feel well. - attempt to keep socially distant where possible during the event, no high-fiving, no spitting. - extra barcode scanners required in order to limit number of participants scanned by each scanner to approximately 50. - participants to carry their barcodes with them while taking part in the event - volunteer handing out position tokens is to sanitise their hands on a regular basis and hand out the finish tokens - the participant is to approach the barcode scanner and hold out both their individual barcode and their position token - once scanned, position token to be placed in container by participant. - parkrun has requested that no "pacer week" be held until advised otherwise. parkrun Australia has requested that participants support their local event and not travel too far to take part in a parkrun. They are also asking for everyone to be respectful of others including park users that are not participating in parkrun. There will be 2 COVID specific "Codes" that will be issued in the next week - one Volunteer Code and one Participant Code. I will make these codes available when they have been issued. We will aim to keep everyone informed thru this page as we get closer to November 28.

19.01.2022 The day we have all been waiting for arrives in 1 more sleep, parkrunday. We will be starting at 7am sharp. There will be some noticeable changes to the way we have previously done our pre run brief and acknowledging Milestones, as per parkrun Australia Covid policy our pre run brief will go for only 2 minutes and will soley be about the event, track and safety, as we are no longer allowed to call out anyone’s Milestones, whether that be a run/ volunteer milestone or first ...timers/ tourists at the pre event brief, but if your are a milestone parkrunnner, please see the Run Director on duty - tomorrow is Robbie If you are. The South Toowoomba parkrun QR code for COVID contract tracing as part of the Queensland Health requirements is pictured below. If you are a volunteer tomorrow you will need to download the parkrun app so you can scan your barcode in and that will register you as a Vollie, there is no pen / paper or writing of anything at the event. Please remember to bring your physical barcode , paper, wristband or disc to be scanned as we are not allowed to scan your phone barcode at the finish. Please check in before or after the event using a smartphone or computer. This QR code is only applicable to South Toowoomba parkrun. The code is also on our website https://www.parkrun.com.au/southtoowoomba/news/ You can go to this page & click the link & it will take you to the page to enter your contact details. We will also have printed QR codes up in various places at the park on parkrunday. If you don’t have a smartphone or a computer you could ask a friend to enter your details. Let’s all enjoy the return of parkrunday, whose coming ??

05.01.2022 The countdown is on, not long til the return of parkrun this coming Saturday! There are a few little changes & guidelines we all need to follow to make it a COVID safe event so we can get back up & running. We need to record contact details for everyone who is there on the day via a QR code.... We will put the QR code here on our page when it becomes available towards the end of the week and you can scan it before you come Friday night or before you get out of your car on the morning of parkrun. We will also have the printed code up at various places at the park. When you finish you will bring your barcode and finish token to the scanners. We will ask you to hold them both out for us to scan and then get you to drop your finish token into a bucket. Remember, no barcode, no time, no exceptions and we can't accept barcodes on phones. Please have a read of the Walkers and Runners code & Volunteers code below. Thanks so much to all those who put their hand up to volunteer this week, we really appreciate it. We will need lots of Vollies for the weeks that follow, so please send us a message & let us know if you can help out. Thanks
