25.01.2022 Today we (as the crew of HMAS Brisbane) want to wish all of our dads a very happy Father’s Day. Due to the current restrictions, many of our crew will be unable to spend this day with their families. So from all of us, thank you for your love and support, we couldn’t do our job without it. We also have many dads onboard who will be unable to see their kids today. To them, we say thank you for the sacrifices you make to be part of HMAS Brisbane. Below is a short clip with some members from Ship’s Company wishing their dads a happy Father’s Day.

23.01.2022 What a day for us Steel Cats! We took the ship to sea to wind ship (turn it around), while commencing a uniform trial. Today also gave us the opportunity to honour a few crew mates: Congratulations to Natasha Gavriel for her promotion to Lieutenant Commander Congratulations to Lachlan McEllister for his promotion to Lieutenant Commander and recieving his long service medal ... Congratulations to LEUT Luke Murray receiving his Operational Service Medal, for his time on OP RESOLUTE Congratulations to Chris Bradshaw on his promotion to Petty Officer Well done to everyone that has gotten Brisbane back to sea!!
23.01.2022 Yesterday HMAS Brisbane departed in preparation for her Sea Worthiness Acceptance Trials (SWATs). We also took the opportunity to farewell two of our Weapons Electrical Engineering Officers. LCDR Col Holloway (WEEO) and LEUT Ed Cobbold (AWEEO). Thank you both for the time have served in HMAS Brisbane, you are both outstanding Electrical Engineers and Naval Officers. Fair winds and following seas to you both in your upcoming adventures.

20.01.2022 Today we say See ya later but not goodbye to Flight 2 (NOMAD). The flight has been embarked in HMAS Brisbane since September and is returning to NAS Nowra for further tasking.

19.01.2022 Yesterday marked HMAS Brisbane’s successful completion of her Mariner Skills Evaluation. This means she is now able to proceed to sea by day and by night. Thank you to Sea Training Group for the training and guidance over the last week.
18.01.2022 On Tuesday 27 October, the crew of HMAS Brisbane took time out of their busy Workup schedule to celebrate Steel Cats 2nd Birthday. Commanding Officer CMDR Aaron Cox along with the youngest steel cat onboard SMN Robertson cut Brisbane’s Birthday Cake. Happy Birthday Steel Cat.
18.01.2022 Yesterday HMAS Brisbane and the Royal Australian Navy farewelled LSET Nick Saunders, after 7 years of dedicated service. We all wish you luck in your future endeavours and will miss seeing you around the Steel Cat. Good Luck Nick.

16.01.2022 Today HMAS Brisbane commenced aviation operations with FLT 2 (NOMAD) and embarked her for the first time in the ASIST. Next week we will welcome the rest of the flight onboard.
13.01.2022 A little delayed, however today LSET Aaron Stevens was presented his Ship’s Leading Hand appointment from CO Brisbane. LS Stevens is the junior sailors representative for leadership and culture and becomes the conduit between the junior sailors and command. Congratulations Stevo, we have enjoyed having you part of the team so far.
