22.01.2022 Executive Officer CMDR Guy Lewis with MAJ David Bonner from JLU West and FLTLT Dan Hodgson (453 SQN) represented HMAS Stirling and the ADF at the Cockburn RSL Korean War Veterans Memorial Day Service on Monday 27 Jul 20. The Service was held at the RSL Memorial Rose Garden Hamilton Hill and marked the anniversary of the end of the Korean War 67 years ago.

21.01.2022 Australia played a significant role in Allied submarine operations during WWII, particularly in Fremantle and Albany. Current and former members of the Royal A...ustralian Navy and the U.S. Navy gathered in Albany, Western Australia to remember submariners who lost their lives during WWII operations out of the port city. The memorial event, which was held at Princess Royal Fortress, was timed to coincide with a port visit by one of Navys Collins Class Submarines, HMAS Farncomb. Lest We Forget. #WeRememberThemAll

16.01.2022 On Mon 13 Jul 20 CPOMT Andrew Bowering was presented with a Gold Defence Service Medallion in appreciation of his 32 year Service in the Navy. Andrews recent sea postings have included FFHs HMAS Toowoomba and Arunta in addition to waterfront support positions in the Surface Combatant Group, ANZAC SPO and HMAS Stirling. Andrew was joined at the presentation by his wife and former shipmates. We thank Andrew for his committed service and wish him all the best for the future.

13.01.2022 Chaplain Richard Quadrio was farewelled from leadership of the HMAS Stirling Chaplaincy team, suitably during the Chaplain’s Off-pay week BBQ behind the chapel. He was presented with a bible from the Commissioning of HMAS Tobruk by Chaplain Lynette Emery, a fitting gift as this was one of Richard’s first ships.

12.01.2022 Able Seaman Marshall Clayton-Dixon was awarded his Service Certificate, with his Divisional Team’s support. Marshall is off to start a new phase of his life, after honourable service, in the Gold Coast. Fair winds and following seas Marshall! It took a bit of effort by the CO but he managed to get most of them to smile - sort of.

08.01.2022 HMAS Stirling Contractor Appreciation Breakfast The Base Manager, Peter Law, on behalf of the Estate and Infrastructure Group organised a ‘Contractor’s Appreciation Breakfast’ as a small toke to express our collective appreciation and thanks for the hard working team of civilian men and women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the base work. The Commanding Officer, Captain Ainsley Morthorpe, said these are the men and women who work behind the scenes to keep the... ships and their crews ready to fight and win at sea - without them we simply could not do what we do now. Base Recognition Awards were presented by the Commanding Officer to recognise individuals who made significant achievements and efforts this year to ensure that even despite COVID-19 that all services continued to be delivered to the Australian Defence Force in an exemplary fashion. Recognised were: Christopher Foley, Jose Crespo, David Hoson, Ann Steadman (and her amazing boots!) and Stuart Klopper. The chefs of the HMAS Stirling Mess did another outstanding job in delivering a top-notch feed for the crew.
