25.01.2022 Happy anniversary.... it’s one year today since ex-HMAS Tobruk was scuttled to create a world class dive experience. Thanks to the hundreds of divers that have already enjoyed her. To the others, what’s stopping you? If you have dived her please share your photos with us.

19.01.2022 Now is time to book that dive.

13.01.2022 I dived on the ex HMAS Tobruk today and for me it was a wonderful experience. I was the captain of the ship in 1991 and 1992 And it was great to see that she i...s still serving the Australian and international public after her years of service in the Royal Australia Navy. I was challenged on occasions to remember the layout, but in the main was reminded of what she looked like when I was in command. The experience was made all the better for the professionalism and support provided by the Harvey Bay Dive centre. Ed, Rachel and Matt all did a fantastic job of firstly making me feel welcome and providing great support and assistance during the dive process. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who is interested in doing a fantastic wreck dive in Harvey bay. I will post a few photos once I have a chance to download them in a couple of days. Thanks again to the Dive team at Harvey Bay dive centre for a fantastic experience.

06.01.2022 Now's the time to visit dive site ex-HMAS Tobruk. As temperatures drop, visibility is enhanced. The site has proven to be a major tourist drawcard for the Wide Bay region with hundreds of divers exploring the site. It has been one year since the ship was scuttled off the coast of Bundaberg and Hervey Bay and Minister for Environment Leeanne Enoch said the positive feedback has been incredible. The wreck is expected to generate more than $1 million for the local economy annual...ly and support about 20 jobs in the region. Fast facts: Ex-HMAS Tobruk is a Royal Australian Navy ship that provided great service to the Australian community throughout its 34 years until 2015. Ex-HMAS Tobruk rests in 28.5 metres of water. Fishing and spearfishing at or near the dive site is illegal. Hervey Bay Dive Centre, Bundaberg Aqua Scuba’s, Lady Musgrave Experience and Dive Hervey Bay are licenced take divers to the site. Divers with their own equipment can book a two hour timeslot online to access the site. A 600m exclusion zone exists around the dive site to protect divers entering or exiting the water. 03.01.2022 Fresh pictures of the ex-HMAS Tobruk dive site show an abundance of fish and even a sea turtle which has taken up residence. Next Saturday is the first anniver...sary of the sinking, which mistakenly left the warship on its side. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS
