Read on so that your season ahead is a safe one. ________________________________________ '' A long p...Continue reading

21.01.2022 Hockey Australia Masters Committee (HAMC) continue to support World Masters Hockey and the World Cups planned for 2021. However with the situation being so fluid, HAMC is looking for alternatives if these plans have to be changed. To this end informal discussions are being held with Hockey New Zealand Masters to consider opportunities for our players to represent Australia in 2021 if our teams do not travel for World Cup. Due to the uncertainty and any Covid conditions still ...required, event formats may include small events in Australia or New Zealand. Any event will be dependent on government policies at the time. World Masters Hockey is expected to make a decision about the viability of World Cup competitions in late November 2020 and any alternatives can only be explored once we have certainty on the future of each World Cup. Our thanks to everyone for their patience and we sincerely hope that you are all staying well. Looking forward to seeing everyone back playing hockey in season 2021 See more

19.01.2022 Hi All. We hope that you are staying safe and well especially to all our followers in Victoria. We are wanting to see everyone again as soon as we can. Just a quick update to let everyone know that regarding both the rescheduled World Cups and our 2021 National Championships, there has not been much change in circumstances of either.... We are continuing to monitor the situation overseas and are in constant contact with World Masters Hockey. At this stage both the Nottinghamshire and Cape Town events are proceeding as per the published dates, however, we are awaiting word on the Tokyo event and will relay this as soon as received. The 2021 National Championships are as were published a few weeks back. In this regard, we have received plenty of feedback from both State delegates as well as directly from players. We appreciate this feedback, but please bear with us during these uncertain times. We will ensure we dispatch any news as soon as it becomes available. To all of the Associations that are back playing and to those masters players and officials that are back on the park having a hit, we wish you the best for a very enjoyable season and hope that it is bringing some normality back to your lives. More soon.

15.01.2022 Dear Folks As you are now probably aware, all WMH Masters World Cups that were to be played during 2020, Nottingham, Cape Town & Tokyo, have now been postponed. Our understanding is that the World Cups will be shifted to 2021 but known as the WMH 2020 World Cups with the relevant over-age birth dates remaining at 31st December 2020. This will enable any items purchased that may have 2020 printed, embossed or embroidered on them, to be used for next year. From a financial per...spective, we are currently in discussions with our uniform & ancillary clothing and goods supplier to renegotiate cancellation of the uniform order. We will advise you shortly once the final position is known. The same applies to accommodation. We are looking to have funds repaid to us but again, this is a work in progress. Hopefully, you have taken out travel insurance but in any eventuality, HA also has a travel insurance policy for these trips, and we hope to be able to access this to cover for unrecovered amounts paid for accommodation. As you have arranged your own Airfares, you should now attempt to cancel or postpone these flights. You may be able to access the HA travel insurance policy; however, this would depend on when you booked your flights. Given these difficult economic times, it is our intention to refund to you as much as possible, however, this can only be done once we have final costs that cannot be recovered. Please be patient as our volunteer group work tirelessly to sort this out. We will contact you as soon as we have finalised these unrecovered costs. In the meantime, we hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you all back on the hockey fields around Australia as soon as is possible. Kind regards Sue & Norman on behalf of the entire HAMC team
