We're aiming to sell as many drink bottles as we can to help severely underprivileged children, youth and other disadvantaged people throughout local and remote regions of Indonesia.... The bottles are reusable which saves you money (as you don't have to keep replacing them!) and are great for the environment! They're also BPA free, so everyone wins. 21.01.2022 Spring is knocking on the door, and so too is the Westpac City to Bay Fun Run! If you've ever needed a reason to dust of your runners, this is it! The City to Bay Fun Run is a great day out..... sunshine, fresh air, being surrounded by equally awesome and amazing people, and, you get to play a vital role in helping others at the same time! Join us! Become a Friend of ours and run/walk with us to make a difference on the 15th of September! We have merchandise packs for sale (p...lease see images with this post), which includes a cap, drink bottle, selected top (t-shirt or choice of singlet), plus other goodies, and a bag to put it all in. It also include a monetary donation directly to the charity which really does go a long way to helping us as we strive to help others. Our merch packs are $55, which in the grand scheme of life, really isn't much. In developing counties such as Indonesia, however, even a fraction of that makes such a big difference, particularly in poorer communities. **Follow the link to Eventbrite to get your merchandise pack and then head over to the City to Bay website to register yourself into the event. 14.01.2022 If you can recall, we mentioned the story of Mr. Yohanes and his family.... Just a quick recap... Mr. Yohans and his family are very disadvantaged, and extremely poor, for lack of a better term.... Mr. Yohanes and his family lived in a corrugated iron shed - riddled with holes and rust. They slept on cardboard boxes, and didn't really even have a front door! Mr. Yohanes suffered a severe infection as the result of a medical procedure. Unfortunately, Mr. Yohanes was not healthy enough to have a subsequent operation to help his condition, therefore, his health deteriorated even more. To become healthy enough, Mr. Yohanes required nutritional foods filled with vital minerals and vitamins. Sadly though, due to Mr. Yohanes' financial situation and lack of government support and aid, he could not afford such foods, and so was never able to undergo the operation he so crucially needed. Hands of Hope Indonesia became aware of Mr. Yohanes and his family's situation and stepped in where and how they could to deliver to them the most basic life and humanitarian needs that we all enjoy here in Australia. HoH provided Mr. Yohanes and his family with new mattresses, and clean water and healthy, nutritious foods - meaning that Mr. Yohanes could receive the medical treatment he needed so urgently. Furthermore, the absolutely incredible team at HoH went a step further.... once Mr. Yohanes was healthy again (as his health was their main priorirty), the went about and built Mr. Yohanes and his family a home.... somewhere that had sold walls which weren't filled with rust and holes - keeping the elements out, and complete with a front door! *Please keep in mind that building standards in Indonesia are vastly different to here in Australia. None of this would be possible without the help and support of you all! Whether it's donating even a single cent, or sharing a post or telling a friend about us to raise awareness.... it ALL helps us to help Hands of Hope Indonesia to then help others less fortunate than our very privileged-selves. We, here in Australia and across the 'road' in Kupang, Indonesia, thank you with our hearts for all that you do. You're the hope and faith that so many people cling to; you're the reason that we, collevctively, have a chance. Be humble. Be generous. 07.01.2022 While our article wasn't posted on the City to Bay Facebook page, as the employee who interviewed us resigned the day after the event and the posting just never eventuated, we'd like to take a moment to thank these Legends for rocking our merch and supporting us at the Westpac City to Bay Fun Run last month! We had an absolutely fantastic day out in the sun as we put one foot in front of the other (continuously, because that's how you walk!)! Thank you also to everyone, peopl...e and businesses alike, who bought merch packs and who were not able to attend on the day. 01.01.2022 The 1st of September brings two things.... one good and the other, well, not so good. The good news is that it marks the start of spring and traditionally warmer, beautiful weather and the end of the cold and gloom that winter brings. The bad news though, is that it's also the cut-off date to get your orders in for your Merchandise Packs for the Westpac City to Bay Fun Run which will be held just 2 weeks later on the 15th of September!... Each pack contains a t-shirt or singlet, a steel drink bottle and a cap, all bundled nicely in a Hands of Hope re-usable bag. The Merch Packs are $55 with proceeds from each pack purchased directly supporting those in need. We'd love for you to join us for the City to Bay! As a group, we'll be doing the 12km walk, but you're free to enter into whichever discipline and distance you like.
