22.01.2022 Self-care Sunday With us all living busy lifestyles it can be easy to forget to look after yourself! If you enjoy at-home spa treatments or DIYs, it is easy to incorporate essential oils into skin treatments like facials, exfoliating scrubs, cleansing masks, and more. For example, it will take you less than 10 minutes to create this Ginger Lime Brown Sugar Scrub to exfoliate and soften the skin.... Ingredients 12 cup brown sugar 12 cup dTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil 10 drops Lime oil 5 drops Ginger oil Directions 1. Combine brown sugar, Fractionated Coconut Oil, and essential oils in medium-sized bowl. 2. Stir until all ingredients are mixed well. 3. Apply mixture to hands, arms, legs, or feet, and scrub for about 30 seconds, or until the sugar dissolves. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. 4. Use once or twice a week to help exfoliate and soften the skin, especially during seasons when your skin is dry. After each use, store the mixture in an air-tight container.

19.01.2022 Friday Fun Day Entertain your kids by turning play time into learning time by making aromatherapy play dough! This activity is a great way for children to learn about aromatherapy and essential oils. Use a variety of oils and colors to help kids learn new scents. Some fun essential oils could include: Wild Orange , Peppermint, Lemon, Rosemary or Lavender. Ingredients:... 2 cups flour 2 cups coloured water 1 cup salt 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 5 drops of essential oils Instructions: Combine all ingredients, except for essential oils, in a large saucepan and stir until combined. Once combined, put over medium heat. Using a spatula, continue to stir ingredients together until it forms a ball. Note: Don’t overcook as it will lead to dry play dough. Remove from heat and cool on parchment paper. Once cool, add five drops of your favorite essential oil and knead until thoroughly combined. You’re done! Just store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for months of fun.

High Distinction for my flower essence mid-semester exam.... High Distinction for my Mindfulness in practice essay Credit for my Mindfulness in Practice peer graded recorded guided meditation. (A little annoyed about this, as I used my exact same script that I got a High Distinction for & had practiced & taken on everyone's feedback). I have my final exam for flower essence this Wednesday, wish me luck I can do just as well for that

Copaiba oil is widely used in cosmetic products including soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes. Since the 16th century, copaiba essential oil has been utilised in traditional health practices by the natives of north and northeastern Brazil. 11.01.2022 Corn, which is believed to be first grown by Aztecs and Mayans, can be prepared as a meal. But did you know that the thin thread-like strands that are pulled off from the husk of the corn can make a healthy tea? In most cases, many people throw corn silk away because they do not know they can use it to make tea. Corn silk tea is not popular to many, and its benefits are also not well known. However, this tea has been used by Native Americans since 5000 B.C as a herbal remedy ...for various diseases. Modern research has shown that the Native Americans who used corn silk tea as an herbal remedy were right since this tea is rich in antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals. All this goodness thrown away!! Corn silk is used for bladder infections, prostate issues, kidney stones, and bedwetting. It is also used to treat congestive heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure, high pressure in the eye, fatigue, obesity, and high cholesterol levels. Pretty crazy right?! All this goodness does need to be limited though, like anything balance is key so don't go getting crazy and drinking too much of it (3 cups maximum a day). As it a diuretic and can cause a decrease in potassium levels in the blood. How do you make corn silk tea I hear you ask? In a teapot add 1/4 cup of cornsilk, add boiling water and steep for 10mins then strain before drinking. You can add some lemon, lime or ginger for extra flavour and goodness or some honey for sweetness but avoid adding milk as this can hinder the health benefits.

10.01.2022 Mindful Monday Today is my 2nd mindful Monday! Last week I shared with you that I am starting to write down my top 3 priorities for the week & that I wanted you to do the same! This is so we can check in with each other and keep each other motivated!... Like I said last week days can be so busy that they start to blend together, then weeks start to aswell & before you know it months have passed and you feel like you haven't accomplish anything that you wanted to! I am far to familiar to this feeling. It can lead to all sorts of unpleasant feelings, like guilt, unworthiness, and defeat just to name a few. Leading to unhealthy, unproductive mindsets & cycles. 05.01.2022 We loveeee basil pesto in this household and have been making it ourselves for a little while now. We love extra basil flavour so we add basil essential oil! To make the sauce we put basil, parmesan cheese, garlic, cashews, sunflower seeds, olive oil & of course doTERRA basil essential oil into a food processor and blits until creamy! We have been cutting down on our pasta intake as well so we use a spirilizer we got from Kmart and make zoodles! (Zucchini pasta). ... Add in some cooked diced chicken and some spinach and dinner is done #tastytuesday #yum #dinner

05.01.2022 Did you know that there are a huge amount of synthetic nasties in a lot of baby products on the market?! Even the ones that appear the must natural/eco friendly when I have read through the ingredients have had "fragrance". Why is fragrance bad I hear you say? Doesn't it just make things smell nice? Fragrance is added to countless products, either to create a particular fragrance or to mask the odour of the nasty chemicals used in production. The problem with fragrance is tha...t it’s a catch-all term for whatever secret ingredients companies wish to add (they are not obligated to reveal what’s contained within ‘fragrance’), and are generally made of coal- and petroleum-derived synthetic chemicals. The effects of fragrance are long lasting, lingering on the skin for hours, and can cause respiratory, neurological, skin, and eye damage. There is evidence that exposure to fragrance as a child may lead to asthma. Fragrance is added to disposable diapers (you know that strong baby powder-ish smell when you open a new package?), baby powder, baby wash and shampoo, lotions, and many other baby products. Check the labels carefully before you buy. 04.01.2022 Skyy is now 13months old & she has been breastfed her entire life including now. Throughout my time breastfeeding and even today I have been asked how have you done it? How do you make enough milk? I eat lots of food including alot of green leafy vegetables. I also use my essential oils too! To help support me, I make up a roller blend I like to call "More Milk Mama" made with sweet fennel, basil & Clary sage. I apply this to my breasts after each feed if I haven't been meet...ing demand. Or if I know I need to pump and have extra for the next day I will apply before going to bed. What about your nipples don't they get sore?! At 1st while we were both still learning, yes very much so she wasn't latched properly, and even once the latch was great they would still get sore & still do to this day every now and again. Again to help support me through this I turned to my trusted essential oils, I make up a roller blend I like to call "Tender Ta-Tas" this is a blend of geranium, lavender, frankincense & coconut oil which I then apply directly to my nipples after a feeding or pumping that has left me feeling tender. Have you ever experienced the pain of milk blockages? Yes, I certainly have! As soon as I get the feeling I hop in a hot shower and massage from the outer breast towards the nipple, after a shower guess what I use? Yep You guessed it, essential oils!! One of my other roller bottle blends is "milk blocked", it is made with lavender, orange, lemon, grapefruit, Mandarin, Tangerine, Clementine, Bergamot, vanilla & coconut oil, I massage this into my breast using the same technique used in the shower. Lastly I feed Skyy, I lay her down on had back & I feed her while I am on all fours and let gravity do it's thing! I hope this answers some questions for people and I hope by sharing this I can help to empower other mums that want to breastfeed or who have been struggling to keep going & to know there is support for you. 02.01.2022 Squeaky Clean Saturday It's no surprise that cleaning products are harmful for us, they are full of hazard/poision symbols But did you know that you can use essential oils as a non-toxic alternative? ... Our house hold has no toxic cleaning products, we use essential oils for everything! Here is an all-purpose lemon cleaner you can try. Aside from its many benefits to the body, Lemon is also a very powerful cleansing agent. With this mixture you can shine stainless steel, remove grime from microwaves, freshen up your garbage disposal, and even deep-clean appliances like your washing machine and refrigerator. INGREDIENTS 510 drops Lemon essential oil 1 cup water 1 cup vinegar DIRECTIONS Combine all ingredients in a glass container and mix well. Use this mixture with a toothbrush, microfiber cloth, or other cleaning tool to dust, shine dull surfaces, and remove dirt and grime around the home. This mixture can be combined in a spray bottle and kept in your kitchen or bathroom for easy access to clean daily spills and messes. Shake well before each use. TIP To deep-clean the microwave, simply place a portion of the cleaner into a cup and microwave for 20 seconds, then wipe clean.

01.01.2022 I absolutely love being able to help out other Mamas with natural solutions . It brings me so much joy when a new Mum wants to go the natural/non-toxic route for their family, putting their trust in nature & gaining a new understanding of what the world has to offer. After many requests I am now selling premade roller bottles, diluted and ready to use for $10! I am a bit busy at the moment with last minute studying before my exam tomorrow but I will list some of the roller bottles in my items for sale album by the end of the week so keep an eye out for that!
