24.01.2022 Here's the thing!! Is Corona Virus just a hoax? I don't know, according to health experts and a myriad of people that read and listen to the news, no it is not. As a business owner, that is good enough for me.... I have employees that are close with elderly family members and also close with those that are pregnant. Two people this week were abusive for not accepting cash, even though they have been in before and also read the sign prior to ordering. It is not illegal to not accept cash. I am between a rock and a hard place, for the select few who are ignorant to the well being of the employees and regardless of their beliefs of the severity of CV, I am placing more weight on the peace and mind of my employees. Tell me I am a shit house business owner all that you wish and need a punch in the head, not once have I ever asked anyone to come buy pizzas from me. All transactions are completely optional to the person wishing to order. Do I care I lose business from the situation, of course I do, but I also like to sleep with a clear conscience. Secondly, as restrictions are easing, we still have some restrictions. Unfortuantly for the layout of our business and the nature of trade, we are still operating at the door only. To keep the required space between tables that we legally are obliged to do, along with the maximum people allowed in store, customers would be stopped at the door anyway and order would then have to be taken and handed out in the same manner. It's a complex and frustrating situation. Anyone that wants to put their cash on the table, please tell me the amount and I'll consider giving you the keys so you can run a smoother business, taking into account and keeping up to date with restrictions, guidelines, the wellbeing of customers and employees. In short, I love my family, friends and respect the life, health and safety of all my customers. Death is permanent.

22.01.2022 A whirlwind crazy couple of weeks, we have hit some of our busiest nights the past 2 weeks. Thank you for continuing to eat pizza, we all know how tight CV19 has caused the zipper on our wallets. I've learnt over the years not to focus on the odd ill mannered customer, if there has been an error we focus on fixing it, then we prevent having it happen again. That's business. Please remember that no matter the problem, whether it is us not taking cash or an order taking longe...r than expected, swearing at employees will not be tolerated and will result in being banned from ordering from us again. On that note, some people are still confused about us not taking cash as it is legal tender. I know we are not the only business operating this way. Preventing the spread is more important to me than losing an ill mannered customer over cashless operations. More importantly, protecting the staff and customers is a priority, so is the peace of mind of the employees given the severity and images displayed daily in the newspapers of those whom have contracted the virus. I've said it a few times over the past couple of months and apologise for the repetitive message. Stay well and hopefully see you at the door safe and well.

19.01.2022 This post is not about the legitimacy of covid! I, like most of you have my opinions and views, and this page is not the place to argue the points of relevancy. But here is the fact. If I or my team get sick with even a cold, it could jeopardize the operations of the business, potentially closing the doors until everyone is tested for covid. Times are tough individually, and times are tough for businesses. ... As we head into the warmer months, and to acknowledge all the questions about starting gelato again, yes. I am seriously CONSIDERING starting it again this week or possibly next... The dilemma! In the past we allowed taste testing. In relation to this, people would be required to stand there opposite the staff, removing masks and taste testing. This also means longer duration for contact. To eliminate this, we will try and keep the most popular flavours to eliminate the need for taste testing and customers will be required to keep their masks on while ordering. Again, this is nothing to do with my personal opinion on covid, so please do not argue with myself or the staff questioning it. It is to help prevent the transfer of any illness that could be seen as covid which could potentially see us closed down for a short duration. Given the fact that covid is in the area and cafes are already closing for safety concerns until testing comes back as a negative. I said it already, this isn't a debate on the legitimacy of the law or covid itself. It is about staying open to see the other end of the whole debacle. Call me stupid, call me what you want, but I am the business owner trying to do my best while walking in a field of mines. Take care! Andrew

18.01.2022 Hooray for zero transmission for nearly 2 weeks and less restrictions being enforced. However, we are still needing to abide by the social distancing restrictions that are being enforced for inside commercial buildings. Unfortunately due to the trading size of our customer area, we are still limited and trading still at the door. If you have ever been in store over the busiest part of the night, you will know that the small service area can feel like Bourke St Melbourne. We t...rialed Gelato service the last couple of weeks to see how service would work via the door, this caused issues for those trying to pick up pizzas. Although, our customers are very patient and have been exceptionally nice about it, we understand the frustration. No gelato this week, however, we are looking at how we can utilize the other entry way in the premises to streamline the service and be able to provide a scoop style of service. Again, this isn't about the legitimacy of Covid, so please do not question the staff about how stupid this is. Thankfully, those that have concerns about covid itself can start to feel at ease, BUT the fines for having one too many people on the premises is certainly out of the businesses price range... Will post an update next week regarding gelato. Thank you to everyone that has shown us the support, especially during 2020. Stay Well. Andrew

17.01.2022 We are looking for employees. If you are friendly, honest, accountable and looking for 10 to 12 hours a week of work including weekends, drop your resume into the store in an envelope addressed to Andrew.

15.01.2022 Positive seems like a negative word to be using when discussing Covid 19 but since results are looking positive and restrictions are being eased... Last Friday saw the busiest night since the beginning of the pandemic restrictions and again appreciative of the support in these extremely tough times. Please remember we only have 2 lines coming into the business and if they are both engaged with the system we are using, seems like they are not working, (unfortunately) when the...y are not working as it has happened in the past, its the same response :( With that said, with the positive response from the lockdown and restrictions being eased, walk up orders are welcome. However, phone orders are encouraged, you will still be waiting the same amount of time for your order and waiting in your warm house may be more pleasant than in your car. We are still operating cashless and accepting eftpos only.

14.01.2022 Too much reflection to take a reasonable photo. But thanks to Anna the local creative display artist, we have this old style vibe going on in our corner. Trust me, you can not miss it driving past. In other news, we have Bolognese back on menu for tonight only, or until sold out. :)

13.01.2022 Phones are back working

10.01.2022 After many requests on pasta, the boss man put together a pasta dish for tonight. House made fettuccine and his own bolognese sauce recipe. Tonight only, and take away only. Until sold out.

09.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Hope you are all enjoying a slight ease in restrictions. Remember to stay safe, even someone with a cold can cause a substantial stress while waiting for CV19 results. We have gelato here today and for the remainder of the week or until sold out, Andrew is still trying to consider the best course of action to provide the service while maintaining a high level of health and safety. ... Stay safe.

07.01.2022 We may not be dealing with Thanos and our employees do not wear capes. However sometimes working in hospitality can be equally as stressful as dealing with some villain trying to take over the world, fast paced at times with the need for quick thinking, being on the ball and focused like an eagle on a field mouse... ...well not quite, but Fridays, Saturdays and some random week days can be frustrating to work.... On the plus side, we do have some really good customers that make the night that little more enjoyable. If you think you have what it takes to make a great pizza, cut the perfect slice, focus to ensure accuracy and just plain old fashioned work ethic, drop in a resume to the store in an envelope. Resumes will be looked at in order of arriving.

05.01.2022 No it is not you. We are closed Melbourne Cup day. Stay safe on the roads.

04.01.2022 Hey everyone. Unfortunately to a complete take down by Murphys Law, we are unable to open today Tuesday 28th July. No, thankfully we can say it is not Covid related and fingers crossed we will never have to close for it and Benalla remains virus free.... We will, all things panning out, be back in action tomorrow, Wednesday 29th. While I am here on FB, to answer some frequent questions, we HAVE created a new menu and gelato will be back on deck. Fortunately we do have a great team at Hollywoods. We are in trying times at best, trade has been really unpredictable and trying to maintain our high standard of customer service is our priority. We have had some crazy nights where we spend the night trying to peg a round hole with a square peg. Thankfully, for the most part, you, our customers are understanding in the extra pressures we are facing. Back to the menu with pasta, some new pizzas, gelato and a few other items, we are holding off until there is a bit more confidence that a stage 4 lock down is not coming, so we can avoid an extra cost that we may need to help us through tougher restrictions. Our goal is for Hollywoods to be around for another 27 years, perhaps with changes, but here to stay. Stay well.

04.01.2022 Sorry everyone, yes, phones are down and hoping to be back online int about 10 minutes

02.01.2022 Yes folks. We are open tomorrow, Friday. Closing time will depend on trade, roughly 8 to 830pm. Stay safe on the roads.
