25.01.2022 R U Ok? R U Ok Day 10 September, 2020

24.01.2022 Children's development can be quite uneven, especially in the early years. Some kids concentrate on physical tasks first; others are joyous early readers at age... three. Some need to yell and jump endlessly. Others need to observe from a safe place. The whole child needs to be nourished and all aspects emotional, social, physical, and cognitive given a chance to develop at the child's unique pace. 13.01.2022 Here's some basic Auslan signs that we can learn to help those from the deaf community while we are wearing masks.

13.01.2022 Oh wow, this is heartwarming! (Head to our Learning Space/More/Shining with Mercy Spirit/Gratitude Gallery).

13.01.2022 Look what I saw tonight on the way home from school. I stopped to take a photo because I was so taken with the beauty of the sky. It reminded me of the joy there is in the simple things. What are you grateful for today? Share it here and then add a photo and send it to Ruth for our Gratitude Gallery. You can see all entries in the Gratitude Gallery by checking out The Learning Space

12.01.2022 Yarn Bomb Community Project is Ready, Set, Go! We warmly invite families, including new 2021 students and the wider community to contribute to our yarn bomb candle. Together we can bring light, joy, colour and hope to those around us. So include this waypoint in your next walk. Weave, tie or wrap your wool, ribbon, old strips of fabric or anything else you can get your hands on and go to town with fun and spontaneity. Remember to use the old bush telegraph and spread the news.

10.01.2022 Yarn Bomb Candle Thank you to our families who have contributed to our yarn bomb community project. The new additions look terrific. Please continue to fill in the candle shape so we may bring colour, light and hope to those around us.

09.01.2022 Some important information for families whose children are using Messenger Kids. This is from Inform and Empower who presented the webinar for parents earlier this year.

09.01.2022 It is so important that children continue to read over the long holiday break. That's why we're encouraging HR students to borrow books from our library for the holidays. Don't forget to borrow from the Flemington Library too. And, of course, books are senational stocking fillers.

09.01.2022 How wonderful is this? Students from St John's Parish School, Trangie, NSW have very kindly shared their time and talents with us by creating a digital magazine. Their magazine has competitions, interviews with St Kilda's Spiderman, pep talks from Australian celebrities and loads of activities, recipes, riddles and jokes to keep our students occupied while at home. The link to the magazine is: https://online.fliphtml5.com/ofzeq/iawf/?1597976359775#p=24... It can also be found on our Facebook Page with an accompanying video: https://www.facebook.com/105766631248870/posts/106286884530178/?vh=e&d=n

09.01.2022 If you were able to watch 'Angst' tonight you will have viewed a very insightful program. In it there were several resources recommended. Dr Michael Carr-Gregg promoted his book co-authored with Dr Jodi Richardson, 'Anxious Kids'. We have a copy at school if you would like to borrow it. He also recommended a free online program called 'The Brave Program' which is from Beyond Blue and University of Queensland and suitable from age 8. https://exp.psy.uq.edu.au/brave/

08.01.2022 Our 2021 Prep students received a special package in the mail today. We're delighted to welcome you to Holy Rosary School! PS Australia Post deliveries are somewhat erratic at the moment so keep checking your letterbox if your child hasn't received a package yet.

08.01.2022 Friends, each of us has been affected in some way by this pandemic. I think of all the families who have lost loved ones, those who are sick and those on the fr...ont lines placing themselves at risk while caring for our community. Let us continue to reach out as best we can to those who might need a helping hand or simply a word of encouragement during this challenging time. This Sunday at 2pm, I'll be joining leaders from various Christian communities across Victoria for a time of prayer online. We stand together in prayer and solidarity, seeking the Lord's healing grace. We need only remember Peter's words to Jesus during the storm, 'Lord, save me.' The virtual prayer is this Sunday, 30 August @ 2pm and will be livestreamed from the Victorian Council of Churches Facebook page on the day. See you there.

07.01.2022 HR Disco Fever. We love seeing the smiles. We hope it brought you fun!

05.01.2022 Angst- a free documentary aimed at secondary students and adults. It raises awareness of anxiety.

05.01.2022 A Father's Day Prayer Jesus' father, Joseph, never spoke a word in all four Gospels, however, his actions tell us much about him. Joseph guided and protected his family through many of life's testing times and showed great strength and courage. This Father's Day we recognise the brilliant dads and men in our lives who also have the same admirable qualities.

04.01.2022 Just for Fun. Can you solve these?

01.01.2022 Please send a photo of something youre grateful for, plus a few words describing it to Ruth at [email protected] so you can be added to our heartwarming Holy Rosary GRATITUDE GALLERY. It can be accessed by the students at HR Learning Space/More/Shining with Mercy Spirit. Times are challenging, so lets be on the lookout for things we can be grateful for.

01.01.2022 "Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindn...ess in your smile." ~ Mother Teresa Today is the feast of St Teresa of Calcutta. It is also International Charity Day when we are invited to reflect on the wonderful work of so many charities throughout the world and support those dear to our hearts in whatever way we can. We pray that through the intercession of Mother Teresa, all those who work tirelessly spreading kindness and love to others, especially during this pandemic, will be blessed, strengthened and sustained.
