06.01.2022 A number of our Year 10, 11 and 12 Technology students were provided with a fantastic opportunity to undertake a welding simulation session hosted by Kim Butler from the Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council (TMEC). The program the students were involved in focussed on raising career awareness, particularly for fabrication and advanced manufacturing trades in Tasmania with huge industry growth projected for the future. After the career talk, the students were ...then given the opportunity to use a ‘real life’ welding simulator to experience and test their skills in welding. Whilst all the students did exceptionally well in demonstrating their welding ability, it was our two teachers in Mr Pearce and Mr Cooper who demonstrated that neither of them had lost their industry standard welding skills, with both achieving the highest welding scores out of each session It was a great day for everyone involved and we thank TMEC and Kim for providing our students with this fantastic opportunity!
