24.01.2022 We integrate our REST values at Holy Innocents into our day-to-day learning: R-Respect, E-Empathy, S-Self-Control, T-Teamwork. It has been wonderful to see so many students receive REST cards throughout the week. Each Friday until the end of the term, the house colour captains will count the number of REST cards each house receives. The winning house will receive extra playtime of 30 minutes on the last day of term! You might even like to use REST at home!

23.01.2022 Congratulations and well done to our senior students for organising the playground tabloid for our students at school to enjoy at recess and lunchtime. The seniors also had the opportunity to test it out themselves too! Keeping active is one of the ways in which we keep our bodies and minds healthy.

23.01.2022 Due to the escalation of coronavirus (COVID-19) alerts in NSW, a decision has been made to cancel this event.

22.01.2022 Today the Year 5 students held a Zoom meeting with Francesco from De La Salle College, Ashfield. Francesco is a part of his school debating team and is the School Captain for 2021. Francesco was able to pass on a wealth of knowledge and experience with debating and he graciously answered many questions from the Year 5 students. Francesco then conducted a debate for both affirmative and negative positions for the topic Screen time for students should be limited to an hour a day. Our Year 5 students, Emma and Daniel then shared samples from their debates with Francesco. We thank Francesco for his leadership skills, his time, and for providing the students with some great advice and tips. We also thank De La Salle College, Ashfield, for this great opportunity. 20.01.2022 Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum! Kindy has been exploring the narrative text of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been lucky to link this story with our Science unit on Living Things and have been using our mathematics skills to measure and record the growth of our dwarf bean plant. Students have also been brainstorming adjectives used to describe the characters of the story and independently create interesting sentences!

12.01.2022 Watch Out! Ferocious Fings about! FING: [MAMMAL] This, the rarest of rare beasts, is found only in the deepest, darkest, jungliest jungle. The appearance of the Fing is that of a fur-covered sphere. The size of the beast varies wildly. One moment they can be as small as a marble, the next as large as a hot-air balloon. Fings have one large eye in the centre of its red furry body. ... Kindergarten students have created sculptures of the infamous FING! This book by David Walliams is a Kindy favourite.
