13.01.2022 PARENTS~ DANCERS ~ OUR COMMUNITY This weekend I delivered the exciting news that Dance Studio's were officially classified as "Creative Studios", and therefore able to open sooner. This information was distributed from the Restricted Activity Guidelines Working Bodies. We were ecstatic as there has been months of meetings to get to this point. Involved in the development of Business Restriction ... Advice with DHHS was Dance Arts Alliance: AusDance Victoria: Minister Foley: Minister Pulford: Creative Victoria and Department of Sport and Recreation. Late yesterday we received the terrible news that Decision had been overturned. Thousands of Children, Studio Owners and Teachers hopes have been dashed once again. In regional Victoria, kids can congregate on a playground. They can crash tackle each other on a football field. But they can't dance!!! We are so sorry for getting excited and getting your hopes up. Dont worry though, the dance industry is just getting louder and we will keep pushing for our dancers who need their sport and their art. We are keeping positive and DDS we will keep dancing. So heres how you can help: - Get in touch with your local MP. 06.01.2022 DDS COMMUNITY HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! District Dance Studio was expecting to take our BACK TO DANCE roadmap tomorrow. We had previously been notified that Dance Studios had been reclassified as Creative Studios I was ecstatic as our Dance Industry does not understand and accept the classification of a "Gym or Fitness Center" Yesterday there was 3 conflicting webpages for Dance Studios transition back to face-to-face classes. We have been so proud of our Covid commitment...s in Regional Victoria and its exciting to see fast tracking as we have meet the data threshold. BUT Dance Studios have once again missed out. DDS are loud and proud of our social distancing, enforcement of COVIDSAFE policies and practices. We have met the guidelines we have no cases up here and unless something changes we will not be in the studio till the 23rd of November. On behalf of my Business, Teachers, Students and Dance Community I ask you to support this petition below. As a community District Dance Studio is privileged to have special memories of this truly unique and remarkable city. Yesterday 19 years ago... 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep ...in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment, life was never the same again. As you live and enjoy the breath you take, be grateful. How blessed are we. #neverforget #911
