25.01.2022 Hey Homestead Team, We hope you are all doing well, it’s certainly been a challenging few months ! As the seasons change, we are starting to see an increase in Canine Cough, the Pet Industry Association of Australia has released a statement on the illness. ... Whilst we have the strictest of infection controls available ( as most reputable kennels do ) and no pet enters our premises without the correct vaccinations in place - nothing can prevent your dog from catching the Doggie Cold - We all can’t wait to see you all again as soon as we are allowed to travel - we have missed all our special customers and have storing all the cuddles for your pets return !! Cheers Scott & Tanya

24.01.2022 The lovely Loki was FULL OF BEANS when he arrived at Homestead for his Board and Train program. Loki was a very confident boisterous pup, and while there is nothing wrong with these traits - the problem here was the timing of these behaviours. Loki would find everything else exciting, except the person on the other end of the lead. As Loki progressed with his training we made sure to give him focus, which then gave him clarity and with that came his understanding of where t...he all the good stuff lies (i.e. with his handler) Calming Loki down around distractions meant it was clear for him to see that 'play' doesnt always mean over excitement, it can also involve work and that work is super fun too :) Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

24.01.2022 Some new and old faces here at Homestead for some Training...

24.01.2022 Bolt arrived at Homestead raring to go! He was highly dog reactive and incredibly strong on lead - not a great combination in our opinion! When Bolt was determined to get to where he wanted, he would use his super strength and drag his handler behind him. Bolt progressed beautifully through his Board and Train program; his obedience around dogs was very impressive, he learned to find value in his handler and would walk with them on lead, not drag them behind.... Well done Bolt, you were such a great student :) Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

24.01.2022 Millie arrived at Homestead raring to go! Millie was an extremely, excitable young labrador. Whilst she was super friendly, she pull strongly on lead and would bowl people over when she greeted them. It was difficult for Millie to focus when there were potential human and canine friends to meet! As Millie progressed through her Board and Train program, she began learning the value of her handler and all the amazing things they could bring. She was able to slow down enough to ...start thinking and learning, even with distractions around! We are really proud of how far Millie came :) Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

24.01.2022 Meet Ryder! Ryder was a jumpy, mouthy little guy when he first arrived to us. He would quickly become over aroused in new situations and needed help channelling his energy in the right direction. Ryder was quite a toy junkie so we had to teach him the appropriate way in engage in play through impulse control and handler engagement. Ryder learnt that all the good things come through the handler so it was worth paying attention. ... This cheeky little bulldozer absolutely rocked his Board and Train program <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

23.01.2022 Meet Hira! Hira arrived to Homestead with some typical Husky problems; pulling on leash, reacting to dogs, no handler engagement and no recall. By the end of her Board and Train program, Hira was a super star student! She loved to learn but she especially loved to show off her new skills. ... We are super proud of you Hira! 21.01.2022 Meet Gracie! Gracie was very fearful of dogs and very strong on leash. When dogs were around, she would choose to avoid them by pulling away. But if any doggies came too close, Gracie would act aggressively to keep them away from her. This was not an ideal way for Gracie to deal with her emotions. As Gracie progressed with her training, she learnt to be comfortable and relaxed around other dogs. Obedience training helped Gracie overcome a lot of her uncertaintly as it gave h...er a purpose and job to complete. Gracie ended up making friends with another Gracie (a beautifully natured lab). Stay tuned to the end of the video so you can see their friendship blossom <3 We are so very proud of you Gracie, you came such a long way! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

20.01.2022 Meet Marley! Marley was a very strong leash puller which didn't help with her reactivity towards other dogs. Marley knew how to use her weight to get to where she wanted. She didn't have any handler engagement on lead and was more interested in what was 'out there'. After training Marley, she learnt to control her impulses around loads of distraction and check in with her handler when she was unsure what to do. Marley's obedience was beautiful! She was such a great student, a...lways keen to learn how to get the best possible result for her behaviour. Amazing work Marley, we are very proud of you and your family <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

19.01.2022 Meet Vinnie! Lil Vinnie was a typical pup; very sweet, very bouncy, very mouthy and very distracted by the world. We were thrilled to be able to show him the ropes and get him prepared for the real world :) Vinnie learnt when it was okay to be a silly puppy and when he needed to listen and learn. Getting this balance right was very important for Vinnie's success as we wanted his cheeky personality to always shine through.... Well done Vinnie, we loved working with you so much <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

18.01.2022 Lil Sebastian was only a 4-month old pup when he arrived to us. Seb was such a cracking little guy who absolutely loved to learn and our training team were thrilled to help! Seb has such an amazing temperament, he excelled at everything and was able to work well around other dogs. Not only did Sebastian listen but he would also respond when asked. What a polite young man!... We miss you Seb <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

17.01.2022 Welcome to our latest super spunky Board & Train students

17.01.2022 Chilli arrived at Homestead to join the crew for some training. Chilli was an overexcited young lady who could get very mouthy. She wasn't able to concentrate or even slow down enough to think. Chilli's tendency was always 'react first, worry about the consequence later'. Throughout Chilli's Board and Train program, we focused on getting her to a level where she could take in what she was being taught. It was really important to slow things down for Chilli and once we did, w...ell you can by the video that she came such a long way. We are so proud Chilli girl! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au We are taking final bookings for 2020 - only limited spots remain this year !!

16.01.2022 Pretty pooches starting their Board & Train journey

16.01.2022 The Amazing Archie arrived at Homestead for his Board and Train program. Archie is a super friendly pooch who needed a little help with managing his excited behaviours. Whilst Archie was lovely with kids, when he got too excited things would quickly get out of control; young kids and an energetic GSP is a stressful combo! While Archie was with us we worked on his loose lead walking, general obedience and recalls. These tools now help Archie's family manage his behaviour in t...he home and out on walks :) We miss you lots Archie! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au Final Bookings being taken for 2020 - only 27 spots remain this year !!

15.01.2022 Delighted to have such a diverse range of dog breeds here @Homestead for Board & Train!

14.01.2022 When Akira first arrived at Homestead she was very scared and reactive towards people. Unfortunately Akira needed to have a surgical procedure done but her vet wouldn’t perform the surgery until she was safe to handle. Throughout Akira’s Board and Train we spent most of the time teaching her that people are wonderful and nothing to fear. We did a lot of handling exercises to help prepare her for future vet visits, as well as teach her some obedience. Overall, it was important... to build Akira’s confidence so she could handle more and more things in life. We are so proud of Akira’s progress Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

13.01.2022 Meet Zina! This beautiful girl arrived at Homestead through some sad circumstances. Zina had lost her original family so it was our job to help her find her new family. Zina was a very strong leash puller and highly dog reactive when we met her. As she progressed with her training we got to know a very sweet girl underneath all that reactivity - she loved to train, engage with her handler and learn better ways to cope.... We are very proud of Zina and her new family <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

13.01.2022 Young Theo was only 4 months old when he joined us here at Homestead Despite Theo being a very excitable youngster, he still lacked some confidence in new environments and around unknown objects. It was important for us to keep socialising and creating positive experiences for Theo so we could help shape his approach to the world. Throughout Theo’s Board and Train program, we worked on his confidence through play and engagement. Once Theo was feeling good about himself, he ...really took to the training and built a strong desire to engage with the handler rather than be worried about what was in his environment. This was key to help this pup move through the world with ease We are super proud of Theo!

12.01.2022 **APPLICATIONS CLOSED ** Experienced adopter needed for this special girl. Violet 13 months... Kelpie Violet is a beautiful little girl who is a bundle of energy and a quick learner. She is always looking to see where you are and wants to be with you. Loves play in the morning or at night, anytime really. She is very happy to either sit next to you or fall asleep on top of you. Going for a drive in the car is something she loves and will lie down when comfortable. As she likes stalking the cat and staring at him, sometimes to much, she would not be good around small pets and has had minimal exposure to small children. She loves a play and chase with her foster brother Kelpie and will play for hours if he will let her. Sometimes can get rowdy and needs a firm hand. Tug of war with a stick, toy or anything else is a favorite game. She is approximately 13 months old and has learnt to sit and relax at home but still has very excitable moments when out. She walks well on a lead but can pull occasionally and even at 14 kg is a strong girl when she wants to be. Her recall does need work but she will respond better with a whistle. Violet is known to be nervous around new people especially men. She will initially bark at you but if you ignore her and let her approach she will warm up to you and shower you in licks, this may take time so be prepared for a little hard work earning that trust. As she is food motivated it makes it easier to train her and will be a good tool for confidence building around unknown things and new people. Violet will need ongoing training to become the best version of herself, and to continue building on her confidence that her carer has been working so hard on, if you aren't prepared to carry on with this She really is a lovely, cheeky girl who will make that right person happy to have her in their lives. 12.01.2022 Meet Sweetpea! Sweetpea arrived at Homestead with no prior obedience. She was hyperfocused on the world around her and couldn't slow down long enough to listen to her handler. Sweetpea learned to slow down while she was here so then she was able to take in what she was being taught. Turns out, this little pocket rocket loved to learn and have fun with her handler.... We are super proud of you Sweetpea! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

12.01.2022 Hey Raffy! This gorgeous little man joined the Homestead Team to work on some mild reactivity towards dogs, over arousal issues, lack of engagement and poor obedience. Throughout Raffy's Board and Train program we saw some incredible growth. Raffy and his handler developed a wonderful bond which really helped with the learning process. He excelled with his training while he was here and is continuing to excel now he's home. We are especially proud of Raffy's family and how ...much effort they are putting into his training. They are certainly benefiting from the results <3 Interested in training? ENROL NOW @ www.boardandtrain.com.au With limited spaces remaining booking early is essential

11.01.2022 Meet Rosie and Lily! Rosie and Lily were both very excitable, but for different reasons. Rosie was happy with life and loved to greet anyone and everything. Lily had a lot of drive to work and with that, came over excited behaviours. So whilst they exhibited similar behaviours, they came from different places. Rosie learned that not everything and everything on the planet was for her to say hello to. Lily learned to channel her drive into appropriate outlets and not become o...ver aroused to the point where she couldn't think. Both dogs did incredibly well here and we loved to watch them grow into better versions of themselves. Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

10.01.2022 Thankyou for our cake pops! Coomas mum made these for the Homestead Training Team! Thankyou for trusting us with your beautiful boy, we know you will both enjoying each other even more now, even though we miss Cooma and can not wait to see him again!

09.01.2022 This little pocket rocket was almost 2 years old when he joined us for training. On walks, Archie would become very dog reactive to unknown dogs so he needed our assistance with building confidence and learning some new manners. As Archie progressed through his Board and Train program, he grew in confidence through obedience training. The act of confidence comes first (learning obedience) and the feelings of confidence soon followed. We were so impressed with Archie's motiv...ation to learn. We miss you a lot little one! 09.01.2022 Meet Freddie! Freddie dragged himself into Homestead, totally over excited by all people and dogs. When greeting people, he would jump up and smash them in face which unfortunately has resulted in a few bruises and bloody noses. As Freddie progressed with his training he learnt to calm down and interact with people without bulldozing them over. Freddie was a super star student who loved to engage with his handler while learning new things. ... You are fantastic Freddie! We love you! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

09.01.2022 Freddie the fluffball was very shy and submissive when he first arrived at Homestead. It took Freddie a few days to settle in but once he did, we started to see the his behavioural issues. Freddie was very dog reactive and would get a kick out of yelling at people too! He would pull and lunge on lead to get what he wanted. Once Freddie began to settle in his new environment, he had an abolute ball and could be around other dogs. He loved obedience training and had some beau...tiful engagement. Recalls were definitely Freddie's favourite <3 We miss Freddie so so much! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

08.01.2022 The lovely Shuri arrived at Homestead in need of some training. She was so focused on other dogs, it was like her handler didn't even exist! Shuri is known for her 'kangaroo hopping' at the end of the lead when she's desperate to get to another dog. As Shuri progressed through her Board & Train program, she developed much more value in her handler and was able to stay focused when other dogs were around. Although her obedience isn't perfect and she occasionally breaks positi...on; she will break position for a reward from her handler and not to get to the other dog! We love these kinds of small wins. We are very proud of Shuri! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

Both pups were such little stars in their respective programs. Our trainers had a lot of fun working with them and teaching the...m new skills. We can't wait to see these two become the best version of themselves <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

05.01.2022 Meet Echo! Echo was dog reactive and had zero handler engagement when he first arrived to us for training. This resulted in a big, strong Husky, pulling hard whilst reacting at the end of the lead - no fun at all. While Echo was with us, we built value for his handler through obedience training. Echo learnt to work and engage with his handler and once this relationship was established, we could work through Echo's reactivity issues. Echo's leash manners were particularly imp...ressive. Echo came such a long way and we are very proud of him! Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au

05.01.2022 Meet Sunny! When we first met Sunny, he dragged his way into Homestead. Sunny was strong, pulled on lead and had no handler engagement. Our focus was to teach Pippa some manners and control so she could still express her fun personality, but in a much politer way. Pippa learnt to engage with her handler and give focus when she was on task. She has a lovely loose leash walk, some great obedience and a super speedy recall. 01.01.2022 Meet Bella! Bella was a typical working Kelpie. All she wanted to do was round up other dogs, as you would expect. Her desire to chase was so strong, she couldn't focus on anything else... even taking food! At Homestead, Bella learnt that dogs weren't for rounding up. More importantly, she learnt a calmer mindser and how valuable her handler was. There were so many other awesome things she could do with her handler instead of chasing unsuspecting poochies!... Bella is such a star, we are really proud of her progress <3 Interested in training? www.boardandtrain.com.au
