24.01.2022 Anyone else relate to this? Im sure I wake up at least 3-4 times a night with my bladder feeling like its going to burst.... Maybe its part of our bodies way of training us for the frequent wakings we are about to experience Tag a mumma who will relate!

23.01.2022 What projects have you got into since you've been in isolation? We've started clearing out one of our spare bedrooms to eventually turn it into a big boy room for Harrison for when the new bub is born and ready to move into the nursery I've got lots of other things I'd love to try and do like create photo books that have been on the list for ages but it's proving a little difficult with a toddler around constantly ... Tell me what you have managed to do or what's on your list! See more

23.01.2022 Ok who thinks we should get a second Mothers Day later in the year?!

23.01.2022 I still havent had a chance to think about baby names yet but Ive been lucky that I am getting lots of inspiration from all the beautiful personalised orders coming through. I thought Id share a list of some of the beautiful girls names Ive seen in case anyone else wants some inspiration - Audrey... - Willa - Rosie - Clementine - Billie - Marley - Olive - Mila - Scout - Hallie Have you got any girls names you could add to the inspiration list for us expecting mummas? 23.01.2022 I hope youre staying healthy and holding your loved ones close during this crazy time With all the empty shelves at supermarkets and social distancing being recommended it can be easy to get overwhelmed. As much as possible try to take this as an opportunity to slow down and enjoy this time with your family Now I wanted to talk to you about something serious... ... ~ ~ Who else is getting down to their last rolls of toilet paper? Im hearing of more and more people having to resort to using serviettes, paper towels, baby wipes etc with toilet paper being very difficult to get our hands on over the past few weeks Toilet paper is specifically designed to break down in sewer systems, these other alternatives are not. So if you find yourself completely out please do not flush: Paper towel Tissues Baby Wipes Serviettes Cloths Newspaper Anything other than toilet paper You might think tissues and paper towels are similar to toilet paper but theyre just not designed to break down the way that toilet paper does. If lots of people started flushing these things, not only could they end up with expensive personal plumbing bills but they may damage community plumbing systems and pollute their local water resources Just a little public service announcement in case you didnt know about this, I know tissues surprised me recently!

23.01.2022 They're back! I got a new shipment of Keepsake boxes on Friday afternoon, just waiting to be personalised for your special little babes and you guys have already been snapping them up. Thank you for loving them as much as we do ... https://honeycombliving.com.au/shop/keepsake-box/

22.01.2022 ~ ~ With less than 6 weeks to go until baby number 2 is due, Ive decided its time to start winding down for Maternity leave If youve seen some of the behind the scenes of what goes into making our rainbow collection you will understand why this mama is starting to get tired!! ... 20.01.2022 I would love to know if you have started your own soft plastics recycling bin at home? And if so if you have noticed a significant reduction in your general waste?! When we started ours we were amazed at how much longer it took to fill our regular bin. Our general waste is only collected once a fortnight and we suddenly found it was only going out some fortnights with 1 bag of rubbish! Here are a few examples of things that are considered soft plastics that you could... be eliminating from your general waste: Bread, pasta and rice bags Chip packets including those with a silver lining Confectionery wrappers. Check out this IGTV for some more examples of soft plastics, how you can start recycling these and what they are turned into. Let me know if you've already started doing this or plan to start! 20.01.2022 An unexpected and beautiful outcome of creating and releasing my birth rainbows have been the heartfelt messages from so many beautiful women who have opened up to me about their experiences with pregnancy loss and the hope and joy they have had for their rainbow babies I designed these rainbows because I wanted something to celebrate the joy I experienced upon having my son after a previous miscarriage and I wanted the same for my friends who had opened up about having ...a similar experience It's still very common for women to suffer through loss and miscarriage in relative silence and I think it is so important for us to open up to our loved ones about our losses and to also celebrate the joy we feel upon having our rainbow babies Not only does it give them an opportunity to support you in your time of need but also gives those close to you who may go through the same experience an opportunity to open up to you too in their time of vulnerability, especially as it can feel so isolating going through it alone. The messages I have received over the past month from mamas opening up about the joy of finally getting their rainbow babies, some after multiple losses and years and years of trying have truly warmed my heart I've also heard from mamas who are still waiting and holding out hope for their rainbows To anyone still waiting for their little miracle, I hope that day comes for you soon and I'm sending you big hugs and lots of love See more

19.01.2022 And then there was you Introducing our gorgeous baby girl, Delilah Marie Born 08/08/2020 She surprised us by arriving a week early and came very quickly with her bottom first - seems she wanted to come that way all along and nothing I tried was going to stop her ... We are all besotted with our sweet baby girl and lapping up the newborn bliss as a family of 4 #itsagirl See more

19.01.2022 Did you know the EcoNaps cloth nappies can be used as an All in 2 nappy or a pocket nappy? For those who don't know the nappy lingo, this means you have the option to snap the inserts directly onto the shell or you can stuff them into the pocket inside. I'm often asked which is the right way and the answer is... there is no right way, these nappies have been designed so you have the option to do either ... Snapping the inserts in makes them really quick to set up but stuffing them into the pocket is great when you have toddlers that are very active and running around. So what do you do? Snap or stuff? See more

17.01.2022 One great thing about a self isolation is there is plenty of time for toilet training! We've been pretty lucky so far, Harrison started training himself a few months ago because he just loved sitting on the potty so much we've been taking it pretty casually and letting him guide us, but with all this time at home we're getting the opportunity to be a little more consistent ... My favourite thing about when he needs to go is his little reaction when he realises... He stops what he's doing with wide eyes and yells WEE WEE at the top of his lungs, clutches at his crotch and runs/waddles off to the potty so he can do his business Everyone else also gets a cheer from him if he hears a toilet flush in the house, such a supportive little man, never thought I'd have a cheer squad to use the bathroom Tell me your funny toilet training stories or let me know if you have any tips that might help! 17.01.2022 ! Final chance to get your rainbow orders in! 16.01.2022 Gorgeous new prints from EcoNaps are now available on our website! https://honeycombliving.com.au//baby/cloth-nappies/nappies/ My email subscribers were given a heads up about this range arriving last night so some designs are already very low in stock. ... Check out all the new prints and let me know which is your favourite! I can't go past the gorgeous Sage but if I was after a floral, I've got big love heart eyes for the Xanadu! If you want to be the first to know about new releases and sneaky little discounts in the future, make sure you head to the website and subscribe See more

15.01.2022 ~ Nappy fact ~ Did you know that it can cost up to $4,000 for disposable nappies from newborn to toilet training? A deterrent for some to use cloth nappies is the upfront cost, but in the long run it actually works out to be a good investment when you compare it to the long term costs of disposables - especially if you have multiple children and can use your cloth nappies again!... If you take good care of your nappies you can even resell them second hand when you're done. I have a friend who bought a few nappies for $30 and sold them a couple of years later for $90 each because they were limited edition prints that you can't get anymore! Have you ever resold any nappies? I haven't got to that stage yet because we will have our second bub in a few months who will use all our nappies but I'm taking good care of mine in the hope they can be passed on! See more

15.01.2022 Now more than ever is the perfect time to encourage sustainable practices in our children especially while we're having so much more time at home. Harrison loves to get in and help with everything we're doing... Sometimes it's not so much helping but we get him involved wherever we can. He's particularly obsessed with picking up any bit of rubbish or speck of dirt on the ground at the moment and putting it in the bin so we've started a special 'Harry bin' in the lounge ro...om so he can do this. Teaching sustainable practices to children at a young age is so important so that they can carry this into their future and it's actually surprisingly easy! Our latest blog post is full of tips and ideas to encourage sustainable practices in children and will help you navigate this across a range of ages. Check it out in the link further down What sort of sustainable activities do you encourage your children to do? We're always out in the garden and have recently started trying to teach Harrison that food scraps go in the compost not the bin Share yours below . . 15.01.2022 Hello Thought it was time I popped on and reintroduced myself as Im seeing a lot of new faces on here lately, thank you for joining us! Im Rachelle, owner of Honeycomb Living, wife and mum to an almost 2 year old Harrison with another on the way (29 weeks - third trimester baby!!) ... Here are a few random little facts so you can get to know me better! 1 When I was a kid I wanted to be a movie director, I was forever making home movies, directing my brothers, sisters and friends to make these movies that we thought were pretty epic, they even had special effects! If Im honest, I probably just liked having another reason to boss my younger siblings around 2 When Im pregnant, I realise how much of a messy eater I am. I think the majority of the time if I drop food it must just land on the floor but when Im pregnant, theres no denying it because theres a little ledge there to catch everything I drop 3 I have an irrational fear of moths, if one flies at me, I have to really control myself not to lose my mind. Totally fine with butterflies but if a moth comes at me... Im out. Trying my hardest not to pass that weird one onto the kids Hope that gives you a little insight into the face behind the brand, even if it is a bit random! Tell me something about you! Do you have any irrational fears that you know are ridiculous but just cant help?! See more

14.01.2022 Sometimes there will be days where nothing seems to go to plan, sometimes there will be days where you get little done other than getting showered and dressed - if you're lucky Sometimes there will be ten times more mess than usual and it will still be there in the morning because you were just too exhausted to clean it up the night before Sometimes you'll feel like you spent the whole day cooking and preparing food and none of it was appreciated. ... But at the end of the day we wouldn't swap it for the world. The joy always outweighs the difficult times Double tap if you agree Beautiful shot featuring one of our family rainbows See more

12.01.2022 This new product is so close to my heart. I designed these birth rainbows a few months ago and they have been very loved at some local markets I have done and now it's finally time to share them with all of you! I originally designed these for all the rainbow babies in our lives, those little miracles born after the loss of a previous child. I wanted something special that we could display to celebrate our beautiful miracles during a time of immense joy and healing ... These are such a special, personalised keepsake for any baby and I'm so excited to finally share them with you all. I'll be launching these on the website on Sunday night at 8pm Would love to know what you think See more

11.01.2022 I love the quote "We dont need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly" by Anne Marie Bonneau I just think its so fitting because some things might be really simple for one person to give up or to make a change to their lifestyles whereas someone else may find that same thing really difficult. We dont have to be perfect to make a difference to our environment and theres no reason to feel like a failure if we ...cant give something up or are struggling to stay consistent. Every little bit counts, especially when we are all trying as a collective. What do you think has been your most challenging zero waste swap so far? Ill put my hand up and say we are still not happy with the amount of soft plastics we have to recycle at the end of the month. Our biggest culprits are things like bread, cereal and cheese packets. I know we can shop at places where we can avoid this sort of packaging on these items but we find it difficult from a time and convenience perspective to do so. So tell me, what are you finding most difficult in trying to live a more eco conscious life? See more

11.01.2022 I'm trying to soak up every moment we have together while it's just the two of us I cannot wait to see how he is with his new baby brother or sister but I can't help but feel a little sad that I won't be able to give him all my attention. One thing I know is that my love for him is only growing more and more everyday with all the new things he does like telling me he loves me and I know that love will only double again the moment I see my two babies together ... Keep an eye on my posts and stories next week where I'll be letting you know about final cut off dates for orders so we can take some time to slow down before our family grows by one more See more

11.01.2022 Ok who thinks we should get a second Mother's Day later in the year?!

10.01.2022 Nothing beats a trip to the beach on a hot day, but all too often we forget about taking care of the clothing and swim nappies afterwards! Rather than use a plastic bag, grab a bundle of our wet bags and keep them in the nappy bag so they're ready when you need them! They're also great for in case of accidents when you're out and about, and in the daycare bag too! Check out our blog posts on ways you can use yours!

10.01.2022 Feedback like this makes me so excited to keep creating for you!! Thank you for loving what we do Messages like this keep us going

10.01.2022 I just had to turn this great video from our story takeover a few weeks ago with Belinda from Belinda Byrne's Naturopath into a video we could all refer back to it if we ever need to. I'm always looking for natural ways to do things and I love these tips from Belinda with some great ideas about how to manage anxiety and help your body cope with stress when unexpected things pop up in life to make us feel a little overwhelmed. Let me know if you have found any of these work for you. I'm definitely guilty of not drinking enough water, that's something I'm going to be focusing on over the next few weeks What about you?

09.01.2022 This design is a beautiful custom piece Ive made for a few gorgeous babies now Since sharing some of the custom pieces Ive made for people in my stories Ive been getting so many questions about them. Id love your opinion - Ive got some polls happening in my stories at the moment so you can tell me what I should add as regulars to the store - Id love it if you could jump on and let me know!

09.01.2022 Life is starting to feel like its almost back to normal after our lockdown stint. I had all these plans for things I wanted to achieve while we were isolated to the house but I still didnt get to everything I wanted to Some borders are still closed and it doesnt look like well be travelling internationally any time soon so in our latest blog we have listed 6 things you could do while weve still got more time at home.... Here are a couple of ideas 1 Rehome unused toys - No doubt the kids playroom got a good work out over the last few months, this was a good opportunity to see what toys were played with and what werent. Its fair to say in our household if we noticed toys that werent really played with theyre out... We didnt throw them out to end up in landfill but have taken them down to our local Salvos in the hope that some other child could experience the joy of these toys that they wouldnt otherwise have been able to 2 Redecorate through upcycling - Im probably not alone in saying that during the isolation period, the house got a bit of a redecoration. I did my fair share of online shopping and purchased new things to redecorate but actually got the greatest joy from upcycling some old pieces too. While youre at the second hand store dropping off those unwanted toys, check out the homewares and furniture store to see if there are any gems you could upcycle into something beautiful! My next project is a beautiful rattan chair that my mum has kept in storage for years that used to be ours as kids. Im planning on doing it up for Harrisons big boy room and cant wait to get into it! #whenhoardingpaysoff For more ideas, check out our latest blog https://honeycombliving.com.au/things-to-do-before-lockdow/

05.01.2022 Let me know what sort of mum you are when it comes to your little ones artworks... 1 - I keep everything they do and can't bear to throw it out 2 - I toss the majority 3 - I'm pretty selective and only keep the sentimental stuff ... I really thought I'd be able to toss most art pieces because I really don't love having a lot of 'stuff' around but everytime I've gone to try and throw it away I end up second guessing myself and now just have a section in the wardrobe filled with random artworks I'm beginning to realise that considering we haven't even reached two years yet, I might have to start being selective about what I keep and just hold on to the sentimental pieces! 05.01.2022 Did you know that pre-washing your cloth nappies before their first ever use is an important step to ensure they reach their maximum absorbency before using on your bub? If time permits, it's actually really effective to wash them between 3-5 times on a full length cycle before use. You only need to use a standard dose of detergent in your wash and will have to make sure that nappies are completely dry between each wash.... But I know that when we get our new nappies home with their beautiful prints we just want to get them on bub as soon as possible, so an alternative is to soak the inserts overnight and then wash both the inserts and covers on a warm cycle

04.01.2022 I managed to get my hands on some more EcoNaps cloth nappies in a few prints for a partial restock These have been selling so fast lately that we just can't keep up with demand. It's been incredible to see so many people jump on the cloth bandwagon ... If you've had your eye on EcoNaps, now is your chance to snatch one up See more

03.01.2022 Hello Thought it was time I popped on and reintroduced myself as I'm seeing a lot of new faces on here lately, thank you for joining us! I'm Rachelle, owner of Honeycomb Living, wife and mum to an almost 2 year old Harrison with another on the way (29 weeks - third trimester baby!!) ... Here are a few random little facts so you can get to know me better! 1 When I was a kid I wanted to be a movie director, I was forever making home movies, directing my brothers, sisters and friends to make these movies that we thought were pretty epic, they even had special effects! If I'm honest, I probably just liked having another reason to boss my younger siblings around 2 When I'm pregnant, I realise how much of a messy eater I am. I think the majority of the time if I drop food it must just land on the floor but when I'm pregnant, there's no denying it because there's a little ledge there to catch everything I drop 3 I have an irrational fear of moths, if one flies at me, I have to really control myself not to lose my mind. Totally fine with butterflies but if a moth comes at me... I'm out. Trying my hardest not to pass that weird one onto the kids Hope that gives you a little insight into the face behind the brand, even if it is a bit random! Tell me something about you! Do you have any irrational fears that you know are ridiculous but just can't help?! See more

03.01.2022 I feel like this quote is very relevant right now If you're like me and feeling the pressure of trying to do everything at the moment - keep on top of your work and entertain a little one all day long because there are no activities to break up the day, not to mention keep on top of housework which seems never ending because the whole family is at home everyday making a mess of the house, I want you to know I feel you mama Just know that you're not alone. I'm sure... there will be days where you feel like you have everything under control and are feeling super productive and then there will be days where you just want to curl up with the kids on the lounge and put on a movie. It's ok to give yourself a break and take the time to rest when you need it physically or mentally. If it's a choice between tidying up the playroom yet again or having a snuggle on the couch - take the snuggle. These are highly unusual circumstances we're living through at the moment so make sure not to be too hard on yourself Tag someone who might need to hear this See more

02.01.2022 Anyone else relate to this? I'm sure I wake up at least 3-4 times a night with my bladder feeling like it's going to burst.... Maybe it's part of our bodies way of training us for the frequent wakings we are about to experience Tag a mumma who will relate!

02.01.2022 I love the quote "We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly" by Anne Marie Bonneau I just think it's so fitting because some things might be really simple for one person to give up or to make a change to their lifestyles whereas someone else may find that same thing really difficult. We don't have to be perfect to make a difference to our environment and there's no reason to feel like a failure if we ...can't give something up or are struggling to stay consistent. Every little bit counts, especially when we are all trying as a collective. What do you think has been your most challenging zero waste swap so far? I'll put my hand up and say we are still not happy with the amount of soft plastics we have to recycle at the end of the month. Our biggest culprits are things like bread, cereal and cheese packets. I know we can shop at places where we can avoid this sort of packaging on these items but we find it difficult from a time and convenience perspective to do so. So tell me, what are you finding most difficult in trying to live a more eco conscious life? See more

01.01.2022 One great thing about a self isolation is there is plenty of time for toilet training! Weve been pretty lucky so far, Harrison started training himself a few months ago because he just loved sitting on the potty so much weve been taking it pretty casually and letting him guide us, but with all this time at home were getting the opportunity to be a little more consistent ... My favourite thing about when he needs to go is his little reaction when he realises... He stops what hes doing with wide eyes and yells WEE WEE at the top of his lungs, clutches at his crotch and runs/waddles off to the potty so he can do his business Everyone else also gets a cheer from him if he hears a toilet flush in the house, such a supportive little man, never thought Id have a cheer squad to use the bathroom Tell me your funny toilet training stories or let me know if you have any tips that might help!
