In the midst of a global pandemic, Tim and his brother, who owns a CBD restaurant, hatched a plan to create a place to support any small food business trying to stay afloat. The website and hastag #weareopennow provides a listing of restaurants who are offering takeaway during the shutdown. Visit the website - https://weareopennow.com... 17.01.2022 After much deliberation, the MHS Foundation Board is postponing MHS Giving Day 2020 due to Covid-19. Our decision to cancel is twofold: 1. With the safety and well-being of all the community in mind, including that of our dedicated volunteers, staff and students, we felt the most responsible course of action is to cancel the Giving Day activities at the Unicorn Club, where we had planned to bring together over 100 volunteers. 2. Taking into consideration the uncertainty and ...concern that Covid-19 is creating in our community, we did not think that it was the right time to be asking our community to help us raise funds for classrooms, so we have decided to also cancel the digital fundraising campaign. Instead we ask our community to focus on supporting families, friends, neighbours and strangers over the coming weeks or months. We encourage you to check-in with fellow students, former classmates, colleagues and parents to see if they need any support and chat and make plans for post COVID-19. During these unprecedented times this is the best way for us to utilise the school's strong community spirit. A big thanks to everyone who registered to volunteer on Giving Day. We hope that you will join us again when we reschedule our Giving Day post COVID-19. To all those who have already pledged a donation, we will be processing your payments over the coming week. If you would like to still make a donation visit: www.charidy.com/mhs We will keep you informed about our plans for another Giving Day and wish you all the best over the coming months.

Generous supporters will be doubling gifts on the day, but it is all or nothing if we don't reach the target we won't process your donation. Register at | www.charidy.com/MHS

07.01.2022 Our community has been jumping online and pledging their support for the MHS Giving Day on March 25th 2020. We received one pledge in memory of Arthur Cocks. 04.01.2022 A donation to the Future Fund this tax-time will ensure we can support students impacted by COVID-19. We are raising funds to help families who are struggling financially. Thanks to everyone who has already donated - Click here to help -https://www.mhsfoundation.org.au/annual-appeal/

03.01.2022 COVID-19 is having far-reaching impacts on our students, families and staff, and we want to ensure we are prepared to assist our community during these difficult times. The pandemic has impacted students like Nathan, whose single mum was laid off work. His younger brother has an immune-deficiency condition that requires the family to stay at home. This means Nathan cannot return to school, nor can his mum return to work even now that some restrictions are being lifted. This y...ear through our Annual Appeal we are focusing on our Future Fund, so we have the flexibility to respond to the material and psychological needs of families like Nathan's. We understand this is a difficult period for everyone, and many in our community will not be able to offer support this year. But if you can help, any donation will assist our students. Donate to the Future Fund today at | https://www.mhsfoundation.org.au/annual-appeal/

02.01.2022 Get Ready, Melbourne High School is once again hosting an innovative 15-hour event help renovate our dilapidated classrooms. For just ONE day, on 25th March 2020, all gifts will be matched by generous supporters. That is right $1 will become $2 and $50 will become $100. But, here’s the catch, the day is all-or-nothing. If we do not reach our target, we will not process the funds.... We hope MHS Giving Day will inspire everyone in the community to help us build classrooms for a new century. Check out our campaign video starring students, old boys and parents from the MHS Community. 02.01.2022 COVID-19 has impacted on our school community in diverse ways and we thank our students, staff, and families for supporting one another. As social isolation measures are loosened in Victoria and the economic impact of COVID-19 unfolds we are preparing for many more students requiring material aid, psychological and wellbeing support. In 2018, we established the Future Fund to respond to the schools most pressing needs and now more than ever this flexible fund will help us res...pond quickly during these uncertain times. We understand that this is a difficult time for many families and a contribution may not be possible this tax year. You can also assist through sharing this message with your network. Thanks for your support and we hope you and your family stay safe and well over the coming months. Find out more about the MHS Annual Appeal here | https://www.mhsfoundation.org.au/annual-appeal/
