Together we’ve been cooking up some comforting meals for refugees seeking asylum in Brisbane. Each week we let a different refugee take over our kitchen and have been amazed by the absolutely delicious meals that have been whipped up like last week when Raj served up his Sri Lankan Jaffna Chicken Curry. Since we opened our doors in 2017 we have provided over 28,152 hours of training to over 66 people in Brisbane! Our recent graduate Rahira and her son lived below the poverty line as she was ineligible for Newstart payments. Rahira graduated from our program on the the 28th of June and was pleasantly surprised by her tax return! She was able to pay for her driving test and license as well as purchase her first car. She is now completing her Certificate III in warehousing and ready to take on the world.
