23.01.2022 Tight Pec major/Minor can cause rounded shoulders or even soreness and pain. Releasing the pectorals is very important especially for regular gym goers that favor exercises such as bench press. . Here I show a great way of releasing the pecs which essentially means getting rid of certain tightness and/or knots that you may feel. . Although you can really get picky with which muscle you're releasing (minor/major), truthfully in my opinion just put the ball where you think ...or feel is tight/sore and follow the movement pattern shown in the video to get great results! . Reminders Can roll the ball around your pectorals to find a point of pain (trigger point) and work from there. It may be painful at first but the pain should ease. . 21.01.2022 Hello all, hope is everyone is doing well :) Migraine headaches are a chronic/episodic based headache which can be troublesome for many. Although a small percentage, headaches comes from many causes, a proper diagnosis is necessary. . Migraine headaches are the second most common type of primary headache with a higher prevalence in woman compared to men. With woman frequency is higher during their reproductive years, when estrogen levels are higher, decreasing to some extent ...after menopause. . Simply put migraines are caused by altered central neural processing within the brain. The headache itself is due to blood vessel constriction within the brain and vessel relation outside of the brain as a result of the altered neural processing. As a result, an aura may happen before migraines; however, most people experience migraines without aura. Auras are symptoms of the nervous system which result in visual disturbances such as flashes of light or wavy, zig zag vision. . Diagnostic criteria/Symptoms 1. At least 5 attacks fulfilling criteria 2-5. 2. Headaches attacks lasting 4-72 hours. 3. Headache at least 2 of the following characteristics. When you’re dealing with a new ankle sprain, Usually Unilateral but can be Bilateral (side & back of head) When you’re dealing with a new ankle sprain, Pulsating quality. When you’re dealing with a new ankle sprain, Moderate or severe pain intensity. When you’re dealing with a new ankle sprain, Aggravation by or causing avoidance of routine physical activity. 4. During the headache at least one of the following. When you’re dealing with a new ankle sprain, Nausea and or Vomiting. When you’re dealing with a new ankle sprain, Photophobia and phonophobia. 5. Not attributed to any other disorder. . Research found that those that use these words are overall happier and healthier. Whereas on the contrary the use of words such as I/me have been linked to depression and anxiety. . The use of we implies a group bond, a partnership or a family vibe. When we use such words we have open up a gateway to connect to the goals, values and intentions... of those in front of you. . Personally we have found that within the practice, the use of such words are very empowering with patients. 19.01.2022 Neck pain is highly common amongst so many people I encounter, and most times it's easily fixable with a few rehabilitative exercises and stretches. One of my favorites is the levator scapula stretch. Many trigger points develop in the levator scapulae and in some cases just by doing this stretch, you can alleviate your neck pain! . When this stretch may be beneficial. Neck pain which may extend to the head to cause a headache. Pain and restricted range of movement. especia...lly when one is laterally flexing to the opposite side. Deep achy pain in the neck, or tightness in the upper back. Pain in the neck just after you wake up. Those with forward head poke. . Reminders In the video we are stretching the right side, to do the left you just do the opposite (Right hand on head and left hand behind back). I see a lot of patients push down on the head, make sure to pull downwards. . Dose 3 sets of 20-30 for both left and right. . Peace & Love . 19.01.2022 VIBRATIONS. . Patient suffered long standing back pain especially near his tailbone. It was so bothersome to a point where it would be there every time he bent forward of lifted weights. . We found a dysfunctional relationship between his diaphragm and his TrA (which is one of 4 core muscles). This dysfunctional relationship was causing his core to be shut off throughout his lifts especially as he is an upper chest breather.... . He now has no back pain with improved lifts. . 16.01.2022 Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow) is an overuse injury which has lead to chronic degeneration, regeneration and microtears of the tendinous tissue of the extensors of the wrist. . Generally, in people aged 30-50. Remember this condition is not to be mistaken for tendonitis which involves inflammatory changes and is more acute in nature. Some studies suggest the use of the term lateral tendinopathy to correctly label the diagnosis so that proper treatment can be utilized.... For tendinopathy the natural history is gradually increasing load-related localized pain coinciding with increased activity. If the pattern does not adhere to this pattern then it may not be tendinopathy. Often pain on tasks which involve gripping, resisted finger/wrist extension. Always assess the neck to rule out referred pain! . Symptoms Pain & point tenderness localized to the lateral epicondyle or 1-2 cm distal. Pain at the end and during of provoking activities such as gripping/turning tasks. Pain worsened when extending wrist. May experience weakness in forearms. . Common occurrences . Often work related with activities involving repetitive wrist extension, pronation and supination. For e.g. plumbers, painters etc Only 5 percent of such injuries are actually experienced by tennis players. . Diagnosis Pain provocation with Maudsleys test (resisted 3rd finger extension) palpation of lateral epicondyle Mills test passive wrist flex & pronation Resisted wrist extension. . 14.01.2022 Studies have found that the carrying position of the dumbell affects activation of the glute med muscle. . Study by Stastny et al 2015 showed that contralateral loading (carrying the weight using the opposite arm compared to primary leg) when performing reverse/forward lunges and split squats elicited increased glute med activity (90% MVIC) compared to ipsilateral loading. Therefore this positioning can increase GMed maximal strength. . The split squat is a great lower body ...exercise, also shown to elicit more glute med activity compared to normal back squats. One can assume that coupling contralateral loads with split squats will give your glute need a needed wake up! . Reminders Either exercise should involve keeping the knees controlled and preventing the knees from caving in. Lunge and Split squat cues should be implemented when doing these exercises (for e.g. neutral spine etc, if you guys are unaware of certain cues feel free to DM me i will give you a list!). . 03.01.2022 Tight hip flexors are a common issue we can all relate to. Tight hip flexors lead to anterior rotation of the pelvis leading to issues such lumbar lordosis, back pain and hip/knee issues. . Essentailly it disrupts the normal biomechanical function of the body. Desk jobs or spending a lot of time in the seated position leaves you prone to develop tight hip flexors. . Here i show you a well known hip flexor stretch that is commonly not as efficiently performed as i'd like it to... be. . Reminders when rolling pelvis backwards - you may feel a stretch, you can even hold that position for 30 seconds to stretch your hip flexors. You can prop ankles up even higher to involve the quads into your stretch as well. You do not need to translate so forward that your almost doing the splits ! It's ineffective and your probably not stretching what your intending to stretch safely and effectively. A static stretch should be held for atleast 20-30 seconds for stretch effect as illicted in current research. . . See more

02.01.2022 I’m sure everyone Is familiar with the regular lunge. But what about the rotational lunge? I find this exercise a great way to not only activate the quads, glutes and hamstrings. But also the lateral core, hip, knee and ankle stability, as well as improving lumbar mobility! . In this exercise lateral stability is tested, to make it harder you could always carry a medicine ball but I wouldn’t suggest going too heavy keep it light. By activating the core as taught by your ph...ysiotherapist during this exercise improves spinal segmental stability when turning. Hint hint a great exercise for low back pain patients! . This exercise is also great for rotational athletes such as those who skiers, cricketers, surfers and much more. . Reminders Keep core braced throughout exercise!
