18.01.2022 We have received a message from a Dale Wesley, trying to find Edna Gilbett or last name Allman, and presumably her son, Geoffrey Keith Allman born 1947. Is anyone connected to the Allman or Gilbett families? Or knows of them?

09.01.2022 The Library is running a free online author talk on Thursday 24 September at 6.30pm. Grace Karskens will be talking about her new book "People of the River: Lost Worlds of Australia". The river is of course the Hawkesbury-Nepean and many of us have ancestors who settled along the shores. This book provides a fascinating in-depth look at the early history of the area. Here is the link to find out more.... https://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au//library-events/Meet-Grace-

07.01.2022 How many members have a baby book? Your own? Your children's? A parent or sibling's? What have you done with them? I know my mother kept a baby book for me, but I don't recall seeing it when we cleared out the house. I have already passed my own children's ones on to them. https://news.legacyfamilytree.com//baby-books-are-more-tha

04.01.2022 An article from Legacy Family Tree may be of interest to some. It's about considering context when writing your family history, including writing about your own life experiences - would future generations understand what a television tube was? 03.01.2022 One of our members, Phil W., has recommended the Dutch/ Belgium Open Archives website. He says that it has been mentioned before at meetings, but he has recently been using it and has found it very useful for tracing some Dutch ancestors. The site even gives results in English. Does anyone else have a website which they have found particularly useful and want to share with other members? Please feel welcome to share in reply to this post. https://www.openarch.nl/
