22.01.2022 So I just led this little legend from bottom paddock all the way up driveway out my drivers side window and up to top of hill. Some walk but mostly jog. Can you tell how proud of him I was. Said there you go Boo you can eat for a bit, I’ll be back. Hasn’t moved for 10 minutes from his grassy patch.
21.01.2022 Now that we’ve ruled out ulcers as a major factor it’s back to working on pilgrim negative associations with a few things. His gut is also being supported to help him further. Lots of mounting practise and after unsaddling today he was in no hurry to leave lol. Our ride finished at the mounting block after mounting. He didn’t move off at all; in fact spent the next few minutes having some major let down time. Such a gorgeous spotty boy.

18.01.2022 Thank goodness for laneways and horny geldings to bring all 3 girls into season when they escaped their paddock this morning. 3 hussies I tell you! The big paddock with loads of grass and horses to stir up on every side was way more fun than being caught too

14.01.2022 Rosco and I starting some pole work to overcome our over jumping style. Will add more slower then start some canter over poles too. I’m sure he’s done this before but he has to prove to me now he can control his style
13.01.2022 Why am I sharing this? Because put simply I never underestimate the damage that people can inflict on horses physically and mentally. Whilst this might not be the norm, don’t kid yourself and think all horses early years are rainbows and bubble wrap. Many, many responses I see and feel from a horse are caused through barbaric handling. The problem for me is once I have seen I can’t unsee. Every undesirable response you see from a horse has a reason behind it. Find out why and work to change it, don’t compound the problem with more force.

09.01.2022 Hard to believe this boy is only 14.1 lol Been working on the quality of our walk, lots of transitions and reducing anticipating what’s next. He’s a horse who doesn’t really need a rider and is more than capable of just carrying you so having him wait and listen more makes it much more of a partnership. He’s just such a dude!

Couldn’t help go over and give them a cuddle!
