24.01.2022 Silent Major strikes the first blow in the Tasco Petroleum Mildura Pacing Cup heats for Aaron Dunn and owner Stephen Blacker, winning by a neck from fav Like A Wildfire in a briskly run race. How good’s True Mildura Style racing!!

23.01.2022 We didn’t get as much racing as we would have liked in 2019-20, but we still had plenty of highlights. Take a look. What was your favourite moment?

23.01.2022 BONDI LOCKDOWN (Somebeachsomewhere Without Guile) Trainer/Driver: Aaron Dunn in the Group 1 VHRC Caduceus 3YO Classic. MR: 1:53.8 Congratulations to connections: A J (Aaron) Dunn

23.01.2022 It's a hometown win to trainer AARON DUNN with ROLLOVA (driven by Sam Barker) in the ULTIMATE MACHETE @ ALABAR PACE, 2200m. The 4yo now has two wins in a row after saluting at Terang and five all up since arriving from NZ for owner Steve Blacker.

23.01.2022 Race 3 - That's two wins in 4yo mare BELLASTEEL'S first season of racing as trainer-driver KEN TIPPET steers her home in the VINCENT @ ALABAR PACE, 1700m, in 1:58.3 after running the last 400m in 27.9sec.

22.01.2022 Big night for Horsham's own AARON DUNN at Mildura on Thursday night - training a winner and getting a driving double. He trained and drove 3yo SHADY AZZ (which he also owns) to his sixth career win in the TASCO PETROLEUM PACE, 2190m - rating 1:58.7. He then took the reins for young Ballarat trainer Sam Barker on Ararat-owned SPUNKY THOUGHTZ in the ZILZIE WINES PACE, 2190m.... Well done Aaron.

20.01.2022 On this weekend when Harness Racing Victoria and kindred body the Caduceus Club salute Graeme and Gavin Lang it is appropriate to reflect on their records in the Tontine Series as we prepare to run the feature on Monday. Gavin first struck in the pacing final with Our Noble Rex in 1985 the sixth running of the south-west zone event. That would be the first of seven wins in the event for Lang.... Nunkie followed in 1992, Black Duke in 1997, three in a row from 2009 with Jaccka Sandy, Atlas Sandy and Seefeel Pocket, and then just three years ago with Rishi. Graeme saluted once with Heir To Greystoke in 1993. Trotters’ finals were a little tougher to come by, but Gavin still won three with Master Maori in 2004, Tryncatchme in 2016 and Deltasun in 2018.

20.01.2022 Our website is back up and running so feel free to check it out at www.westsidehorsham.com.au

17.01.2022 "20 years since I've driven a Group 1 winner - at least now it's not a fluke, I've got two!" A rapt Aaron Dunn after Bondi Lockdown wins the VHRC Caduceus 3YO Classic at Tabcorp Park on Night 2 of TAB Summer of Glory.

16.01.2022 VALE GEOFF AMPT - from Horsham Harness Racing History by John Peck, p.55 "Geoff Ampt was equally as accomplished with the camera. ... He was born and raised in the area around Goroke/Gymbowen, and became the Wimmera Mail Times’ senior photographer in 1966, later heading to Melbourne and working for The Age, Trotting Weekly, Harness Racing Victoria. While in Horsham he did some trackwork with Laurie Callick, an apprenticeship that served him well later on in the famous Media races at Moonee Valley, winning one on the Kevin Hampton trained Neivandt. Geoff also recalls one media race where he drove Group One winner Star of Broadway and Richard Trembath drove his Group One performer Dark Dreamer. Both were well handicapped out of the event and at the top of the back straight they were 150 yards from the leader. At this point Richard said to Geoff, Let’s go. To this day Geoff claims he had never gone so fast in his life. The pair caught and passed the leader but not the eventual winner, driven by the Pacing Priest Father Brian Glasheen. As for National Coulter Awards for photography Geoff won in 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990 and 2000. See more

14.01.2022 Charlton trainer MARK BOYLE combines with BRUISED EGO (G Sugars) to snare the THE STORM INSIDE @ ALABAR PACE, 2200m. Boyle also holds a special place in Horsham history. Boyle trained the winner of the 1st race to be run on this track - 12th May 1992 - Sparkling Cyanide

13.01.2022 Young reinsman Lochie Cook had just his third career win on Jilliby Adore for Terang trainer Marg Lee in the ALABAR HORSHAM 3YO CLASSIC, 2200m. The filly was too classy, running down leader leader Jaeden to bring up her third win.

13.01.2022 GROUP ONE GLORY AARON DUNN & BONDI LOCKDOWN "couldn't believe my luck, landing on the favourite's back" Home in 26.0 seconds and off to the paddock. Congratulations to Aaron and all who have played a part along the journey to tonight.

13.01.2022 JOHN RICHARD has edged within striking distance of $50,000 in earnings with victory for Horsham trainer ROD CARBERRY in the BLUE SUNDAY PACE, 1609m at Charlton on Monday. With Grant Campbell in the cart, the 6yo used the sprint lane for career win six in 1:59.9

12.01.2022 #TeamHorsham trainer AARON DUNN gives LETS HUSTLE his second start since arriving from NZ at Terang on Tuesday night. The 5yo ran a big race for a close second first-up at Hamilton in race run in 1:56.4. Gets chance to use gate speed from pole. Dunn also has another ex-NZ pacer KENYA engaged.

12.01.2022 Vale Trots Photographer Geoff Ampt HRV Media 18 Nov 2020 Harness racing has lost a dear friend in Geoff Ampt, who passed away suddenly overnight. ... Ampt, a Coulter Media Award winning photographer who covered trots for many years at the Showgrounds, Moonee Valley and Tabcorp Park Melton, struck up a friendship with long-time photographer Graeme Prosser and the pair worked together prior to Prosser's retirement in recent years. Ampt, a keen lawn bowler, was also formerly a photographer for The Age, covering harness racing among many other general news and sports rounds. As the newspaper industry reduced its workforce, Ampt finished with Fairfax and aligned with Prosser’s business, a partnership made all the smoother when Prosser moved across the road. He’s here every morning about half past eight, looks at the emails and sorts out those things and has been a tremendous help, Prosser told HRV's Trots Media in 2016. People have had our pictures and said they have been some of the best they have seen in Australia. We tried to make them unique when the opportunity arose. We tried to do a bit extra. HRV extends sincere sympathy to Geoff’s wife Lorraine and family during this difficult time.

10.01.2022 Well done "Rocky" & Team Giles-Work-Barker....good luck @ Ararat
