We’d like to thank our loyal guests for their continuing support in these trying times. We’d like to thank our staff for their great efforts and making the most of a very strange season. Thanks also to BSL and the RMB for their unwavering commitment to getting the resort open and keeping it open under strict Covid 19 regulations as well as the snow gods deserting us, so that at least some skiing was possible. Stay safe, stay well and let’s look forward to a great Coronavirus-free and snow packed Season 2021. Best wishes to everyone. Lotte, Hannes and Anton Grimus

07.01.2022 Greetings from the top of Buller Amazing to see Autumn looking like this after so many snowfalls in the past fortnight. Explore our socials or search ‘Buller... snowcams’ for more snowy goodness to brighten your day. We’re optimistic for some skiing this winter when safely possible, but in the meantime we’re getting behind the #COVIDSafe app - worth a download if you haven’t already - to keep our communities safe. . @teddylaycock / @teambullerriders

07.01.2022 Have you heard of 'snow ghosts?' Snow ghosts are structures (like lift towers, signs, trees etc) that aren't layered in snow, but a type of ice called 'rime.' ... They’re formed by clouds or fog made of super-cooled water droplets that remain in a liquid state because they don’t have a freezing nuclei, i.e. there aren’t any particles in the air for the water droplets to freeze around. However, the instant this mass of water covers a mountain top or ridge line, the droplets come into contact with structures and freeze. Over time, the layers build up and the wind moulds and shapes them into these types of marvellous sculptures. Thanks IG/@teddylaycock for these fantastic snow ghost images captured at Mt Buller. 02.01.2022 As you mat or may not know, Steve Lee is going through one of his hardest challenges at the moment. On the 6th of September he had a stroke and is on the road to recovery but will need our help. Steve has been selfless in the way he has given so much to the Australian Winter Sports. From being a 3 x Winter Olympian and winning a Alpine World Cup inspiring a generation, through to running ski tours to show the world what Australian skiing is all about. The absolute least we... can all do is to stand by him and help him through this time. To help, friends and family have set up a fundraising page to take donations to help his recovery. The link to donate is, http://bit.ly/SLFightback. It will be a long road, but Steve is a fighter and he will be back shredding lines in no time. Much love to Steve and the family from the Grimus family. #steveleefightback See more

01.01.2022 15 May 2020 - Mt Buller Mt Stirling coronavirus (COVID-19) update Earlier this week, the State Government extended the state of emergency status for Victoria until 31 May 2020. Here’s a summary of the impact of this announcement on Mt Buller and Mt Stirling. Access... Access to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling is now open for local residents to visit for the day, but remember to practice physical distancing. The Victorian government guidance states: You can drive to a location to exercise. As always though, Victorians are being asked to use common sense when it comes to traveling. If you can walk or exercise near your home, you should." [Dept of Health guidelines]. Please note the overarching instruction from the State Government is to stay home and avoid non-essential travel. Mt Buller While blue skies and snow on the ground is very tempting, the Mt Buller ski area and snow play parks are CLOSED for skiing, boarding, and tobogganing as: There are numerous construction zones, unmarked hazards and open trenches as preparations for a snow season continue, plus the area is not patrolled. Guests to the resort are required to follow all warning signs for their own safety and, in an emergency, call 000. Mt Stirling Local residents can access Mt Stirling for the day however the trails and backcountry areas are not yet patrolled or maintained meaning: Trees may be down, unmarked hazards exist, and trails are ungroomed, and only experienced locals with good knowledge of the area should consider exercising here at this time, and do so at their own risk. If you are visiting: Follow all posted signs Make a detailed trip plan and ensure someone knows where you’re going and when you intend to return, and In an emergency call 000. To the big question on everyone’s mind will we have a snow season? It’s still too early to say exactly how the 2020 season will be impacted due to coronavirus, and decisions will be made in accordance with instruction from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer. We’re working to have the resorts open for skiing and snowboarding as works near completion on the village development, expanded snowmaking and the water storage reservoir. We’re an agile industry, well adapted to the uncertainty of snow seasons. Updates will be shared as new information becomes available.
