Had the privilege of sitting in on Chiefs hydrotherapy session today at The Animal Rehab Klinik Thank you to Mandy for allowing the gatecrash and to get to see your beautiful Chief take to it like a duck to water ! Thanks also to Matt and Rhys for the tour and going through the pressure plate gate analysis equipment. There are so many great rehab support tools to aid your dog both in recovery and prevention. Their beautiful furmum Hayley and big human sister Bria, love them all to bits and are looking to have more harmony at home. Rescue girl Mika, is learning to settle and enjoy coming and going on walks and not feel she needs to guard things from her siblings. Multidog households can work beautifully with the right balance, with all personalities sharing the love. Individual time can be a great option as it boost independence and gives space to enjoy that one to one attention. 19.01.2022 We are lovers of all animals here and Chief the boofy boy and his family have introduced us to an amazing group, @WACS Wildlife and Carer Support. This charity was set up with the Summer bushfires to help those where needed, with ALL donations going directly to wildlife and the carers on the ground making a difference everyday. Fundraising includes raffles and chocolate sales (yummy snacking for a good cause ), and take anything that can help such as kangaroo pouches, crates and more. Check them out, share, get some choccies, and have a look at all the furry, feathery, scaley, slippery cuteness being helped.

As a new rescue he is now set up to transition into his new life smoothly, as our lesson covered areas such a how to communicate effectively to him what we want him to do, supporting toilet training, barking and helping with some separation anxiety. He is stoked to have a new family and needs to relax, knowing he is safe on his own too. When getting a mixed breed, it can be har...d to tell exactly what mix is in there, but you can have some fun guessing (DNA testing is getting better). Ultimately you take your dog as who they are. as a unique individual, and work with the behaviours you see. 15.01.2022 Some inspiration to help your dog get back into shape if some extra insulation has crept up over the winter break. It can be hard to recognise the change when seeing your dog every day but a general guide to follow depending on breed structure, line, and fur/skin amount is: Be able to easily feel the ribs when running your fingers over them. See where the last rib is. ... When looking from the top see a waist tuck in. When looking from the side see a tuck up, where the ribs finish. If you know your dog can benefit from shedding a little extra weight, do the best thing you can for them by slightly reducing some of their daily food intake and watch to see how they level out (if you arent measuring their daily amount start now!). Adjust as needed from there. Have a look at what treats they are getting and switch for healthier options. If they arent getting enough exercise increase this sensibly to build fitness. You can include some extra veggie content to have them feel sated or embrace fresh food feeding which will help with the reduction in unnecessary carbs (weight management kibble is not the answer), leveling out blood sugar and often boosting metabolism. A dog that is at a healthy weight can have their life extended by up 2 years! They will also be more comfortable and it influences so many other health issues and behaviours. That is something huge to think about and of course you want the best for your dog, so dont fall for those big sad eyes when giving them another snack, dont kill em with kindness, but instead spoil them with what they truly deserve and will love which is healthy nutrition, activity and interaction. A healthy dog is a happy dog

Jesters nose has been getting a workout He has had some great enrichment, having an amazing time while something sleeps soundly up in the tree. Xylo has been with him and busied himself with other interests while Jester went around and around, poking his head in and up for a good ten minutes exploring.
