20.01.2022 Due to the lock down announced for Melbourne over the next five days, the House of Books will not be open on Saturday 13th February and will remain closed until at least 10 am on Thursday 18th February. Watch this space for further announcements.

17.01.2022 The House of Books is looking forward to re-opening when retail restrictions ease. At the moment, this looks likely to occur from 2nd November, but may occur a few days earlier if the government permits. The bookshop will most likely be open each morning Monday to Saturday. Check back here for details next week.

08.01.2022 The House of Books will close at 1 pm this Saturday, 19th December for the Christmas New Year break. In 2021 we are re-opening a week earlier than usual, on the 18th January at 10 am. The good news is that we will again be open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday next year and 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays - our normal pre-COVID hours. Thanks to all our volunteers who have worked to keep the shop functioning in this difficult year and a big thank you to all our loyal customers during 2020. We wish you and your families a Happy Christmas and a safe and healthy 2021.

06.01.2022 In line with the Victorian Government's announcement today, the House of Books will reopen tomorrow [Thursday 18th] at 10 am. Our opening hours are 10 am - 4 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am - 1 pm on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing our customers again.

03.01.2022 Great news! In line with the easing of Victorian Government restrictions on retail and movement, the House of Books is reopening from 10 am on Wednesday 28th October. The shop has a COVID safe work plan which includes limitations on the number of customers in store and other safety precautions. Masks are compulsory in accordance with health directives. The shop will be open from 10 am to 1 pm each day Monday to Saturday, except for public holidays. We have our great range of modestly priced books, CDs, DVDs and hand made greeting cards for sale. Our great team of volunteers is eager to see and to serve you in a COVID safe manner.
