23.01.2022 Goodmorning from HOD headquarters ...giving you your daily dose of super cuteness

23.01.2022 So many of our exciting and special events have been cancelled this year 2020 has been a challenging and difficult year for the arts and dance. We have had to continue to stay motivated in these tough times as dancers and keep pushing on.... We have shifted and moved and navigated our way through each week and month since reopening. This week has felt like the HOD of old We have loved the buzz this week as costumes start arriving ,routines are being finished and dancers are preparing for our competition in October for the Hobart City Dance Challenge. The buzz and energy has made our studio feel home again. We are excited mostly to get on stage and perform. While it may be a little different in format with limited audience and some rules around backstage and front of house ....we just can’t wait to dance. So as we prepare over the next month for this event I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dance parents ,students and staff. This has not been an easy time and you have all pushed through with positivity ,patience and understanding. Can I just say I have never been more happy and excited to see ripped open costume boxes and costume bags strewn all over our studio everywhere everyday! The late nights ordering costumes ,the stress in their arrival ,the limited costume stock ,the reuse ,rehire and borrow! The routine line changes ,the music edits, the newsletters, info ,facebook updates, emails ..... Ahhhhhhhhh it’s bliss. The chaos is bliss! Happy Friday all

23.01.2022 The concert countdown is on! Who would've guessed this time last year when we were celebrating our HUGE 20th anniversary at the iconic Theatre Royal that a couple of months after we would be closed for business. That the world would be turned upside down and we would all be forced inside our homes to keep each other safe and secure. This year has felt like a whirlwind thats's for sure....but my constant has always been the smiling kids who bound through the doors each week.My... amazing staff and my incredible parents. We closed-we reopened-we continue to rebuild. 2020 has given us so many lessons about resilience, compassion, loyalty and family spirit. It has been about the generosity of so many amazing people, the trust and support to keep pushing and to keep delivering an amazing product in such challenging times. It has been about coming together and working together. I have always been big about my HOD community and being part of the greater Hobart spirit. 2020 has cemented these values more than ever. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS TO 2021. LET'S CELEBRATE MAKING IT TO THE END OF THIS YEAR WITH EACH OTHER...SAFE AND HEALTHY. #HOD2020

18.01.2022 #wemakeeventsaus Get behind this everyone. Our events industry is in big trouble.... With the cancellation of so many major events ,festivals and concerts our entertainment industry is close to closure in Tasmania. Its is hard enough to stage an event at the moment ...the people who rely on these events to make a living are hurting and need our help! Save our stages now! Get these event organisers and operators back in business. Our theatres are barely open and with huge restrictions -planning events is so difficult right now.

08.01.2022 Isn’t it funny that no matter how our team performs whether they win or lose, we still wear their colours with pride? We may not even like the colour ‘orange’ or ‘yellow’, but it does not matter we still wear the colours with pride. Wearing a uniform instills pride because of who you are associated with and how those who have gone before you have carried themselves.... Whether you love ballet, jazz, musical theatre or contemporary there is someone who has walked the path before you and held the House of Dance banner high. People associate with and identify you because of your uniform and school name. In turn you become that mentor and lead the way for those younger than yourself. So remember, whilst your uniform may not always reflect your style or match your skin tone, the reason you have a uniform goes much deeper. It gives you a sense of belonging. People will not notice the style of your uniform as much as they notice the actions portrayed from within. When you are in uniform, people will associate your behaviour as a reflection of the values that your school has. Wear your uniform with pride. HOD PRIDE 2020.

07.01.2022 We are having the best time at the Jump Dance Challenge It feels so good to be back on stage again

05.01.2022 R U OK?Day is Today. It’s our national day of action when we remind each other that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs ask then the question R U OK? 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. ... If you feel like something’s not quite the same with someone you know there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re saying or doing - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them Are you OK? If someone says they’re not OK, make time to listen, encourage action and check in. That conversation could change, or even save, their life. #ruokday2020

Whether he's your biological father, or the paternal figure in your life who took the job without question. Whether he stayed at home, or worked overtime to keep the family in order.
