06.01.2022 Last week’s talk was from Belinda Hazell, a Principal of Optimum Standards, business consultants. She recently gained a Churchill Fellowship and investigated how growers in Australia can be proactive in addressing social licence concerns by looking at how growers in New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland and the Netherlands operated. Sustainability, biodiversity, animal welfare and food security have created complex regulatory systems which farmers have to comply with if they want to succeed The onus is now on farmers to tell their stories about how they produce their food to inform their markets. Belinda’s presentation was very interesting and thought provoking and gave great insight into the current issues that face our farmers. Belinda pictured with husband Wesley.
