24.01.2022 If Im being honest, organisation isnt my strong suit. I kind of thrive on the crazy, chaotic, spontaneous energy that often comes hand in hand with being a stylist. That unfortunately often means mess, but thats how a stylist lives and Im so okay with that. ~ Im asked questions all the time about the things I bring along to shoots, what my house is like and how I store all these pretty things, so I thought I would do a sneak peek of my propery while everything is put away and you can actually see the floor. For the full tour, check out our story! Em

23.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure of meeting two incredible sisters who are living out their summer dream in a little shack on the Yorke Peninsula. Emma and Sarah of @readandhall have created the most perfectly styled yet perfectly effortless space. Underneath the layers of op shop finds, recycled furniture, coral collections and foraged greenery, lies a family shack where kids play, rosé is flowing and sandy feet are welcome. Stay tuned for a full tour of Emma and Sarahs shack on th...e How We Live blog soon! Em

21.01.2022 Tess + Michael ~ We cant wait to introduce you to these guys and their stunning home amongst the gumtrees (youll also fall in love with colour coordinated doggies). 21.01.2022 Now that summer is peeking its cute little head around the corner, the afternoons are starting to look a little less like cuddling on the couch with my dog and a blankie, and a lot more like sitting in the sunshine with a cocktail in hand. And Im absolutely thrilled about it. ~ @parksidehotel is my faithful local - gorg interior, the best schnitties and cocktails for days (try the strawberry mojito, youre welcome). ~ Wheres your favourite place to go for a summer bev?... 19.01.2022 The special kinda place that you get excited jitters from, @southseastrading is one of my favourite little stores in Port Elliot. Books upon books upon books (which I spend a stupid amount of money on even though I just look at the pictures and definitely do judge them by their cover), beautiful ceramics and homewares, and the most homely, light-filled interior. Definitely a must-visit if youre down that way! ~ Where are some of your favourite little places in South Austral...ia? ~ On a side note, for those of you who havent already and are keen for a regular dose of interiors goodness, feel free to subscribe via our website to be notified when we officially launch the blog - exciting things are coming! ~ Tag us in pictures of your SA home using #howwelive_here for a chance to be featured. 19.01.2022 Its probably the stylist in me, but damn I love a good nook! This bad boy from one of @fabrikate_creative_spaces latest projects features to-die-for joinery, oodles of natural light and is nestled beneath layers of the most beautiful wares from some of SAs most beautiful makers and retailers. What more could a nook-loving gal ask for! Speaking of a nook, if youve created or landed yourself a good nook (or several - the more the merrier) get in touch! We love seeing gorgeo...us South Aussie homes and you may even get a chance to be featured on our blog. So get nookin! Em

18.01.2022 All I want for Christmas is a beautiful artwork by @alyshasparks_artist Alysha Sparks. If you dont know this local SA artist, get around her because she does some stunning landscapes which Im obsessed with! ~ Know any local artists that we should know about?? Gabs

17.01.2022 I think it’s only fair to respect the institution of a brunch on a Sunday morning, and if any of you are like me and have been making the most of the last weekend of the Fringe, some serious post-bev food is completely necessary. Cutest of cute interior and some amazing food (the banana bread was definitely worth writing home about) at @ponyandcole last weekend, purely because my brunch spot this morning is the couch. Where’s your favourite brunch spot in Adelaide? Em

16.01.2022 I don’t know about you guys but I’m an absolute sucker for ceramics. All those shapes, textures and patterns, all so unique and all lovingly hand crafted. Pure magic. But that being said, I’m also known to adopt a lot of side-of-the-road furniture and am the owner a rather large cushion collection. I go through phases, what can you do. What can’t you walk away from when it comes to homewares? ... Em See more

16.01.2022 Most people assume that a stylists house is gonna be perfect with the most beautiful, expensive pieces and looking like a magazine 24/7. But Im absolutely thrilled to tell you its definitely not. On the other side of this image, I have a pile of washing the size of a small island nation in the corner. I vacuum up my dog Coops hair way less than I should, I started painting my room hungover one day but never got around to the skirtings, and my housemate and I may or may no...t have some very questionable soup in the fridge. But to me, the most important thing to consider when it comes to your home is whether it brings you joy. And this space brings me so much joy. Theres beauty in the imperfect realness. Its a sunny, eclectic, constantly-changing mess and I love it. ~ Tag us in pictures of your SA home using #howwelive_here for a chance to be featured Em

15.01.2022 Em and I met many moons ago because of our love for interiors and all things design. We always knew we were soul sisters and that somehow we would find ourselves side by side on some sort of adventure. ~ Well here it starts, our little adventure that will soon be our blog HOW WE LIVE - A curated look into the homes and lives of South Australians. ~ If you have a beautiful home you would love to share please email us [email protected] or if you know someone please tag th...em below. 15.01.2022 You suddenly realise how filthy your house actually is when you have someone coming around to photograph it! ~ Were having some visitors tomorrow to do a little article on our house and Ive just spent the last two days washing walls, scrubbing skirting boards, cleaning windows and super soaking two years of dribble that had caked itself down the side of Raynes cot. ~ Something else Ive come to discover is you have to create a chaotic mess to get reorganised. Im no...t sure how that works but it seems my process of cleaning is to make more mess first Gab See more

14.01.2022 Is there anyone in SA who hasnt actually been to Coriole?? ~ What a beautiful corner of the Mclaren Vale wine region! Have you got any favourite wineries we should look at featuring in our blog next year? Tag them below!

14.01.2022 A little up close detail from the @space_craft_joinery kitchen I had the pleasure of playing in yesterday, courtesy of the gorgeous @josiewithers. ~ I tend to have a love/hate relationships with styling kitchens. They can have so much pretty-potential but in real life, often mean not-so-pretty things. Like that fourteen year old toaster that you moved out of home with (that somehow hasnt died), kids lunch boxes and last nights dishes. But its all about embracing the chaos..., right?! ~ Wheres your favourite room in your house to style? Em See more

13.01.2022 Had a sneaky little suss of @west_henley last week, great things to report. Gorg interior, gorg views, but most of all the piña colada was sublime and thats really all we need to know, right? ~ Let us know what fab South Australian spots we should check out this summer! Em

11.01.2022 After the heat today and a quick run on the beach with my dog, you can find me sprawled out on the couch like this guy. Hes definitely got the right idea. ~ This is another incredible space by @fabrikate_creative_spaces that I got to play in a while back, it just had all the vibes. 11.01.2022 Oh Little Shoo. We love you! _ Have you been to @littleshoohenley at Henley Beach yet? It’s so lovely and beautifully designed by @gshepherdinterior _ The name Little Shoe came from the Italian saying make the little shoe or Fare la Scarpetta which refers to getting little pieces of bread to mop up all the juicy left over pasta sauce on your plate. How sweet is that!

10.01.2022 Plant people are my kinda people. This little collection belongs to some friends of mine, and they always look so happy basking in the sunlight. ~ Somewhere along the line we all became crazy plant people, turning our homes into miniature tropical rainforests and cactus gardens. Its the new normal to impulse buy plants as often as youd buy clothing or homewares and Im totally here for it. My current faves are probably Hoyas and ye ol Rubber Plants, but when it comes to yo...ur source of green, you do you... follow your heart. Ill admit Im not much of a green thumb, but that doesnt stop me from having a stupid amount of plants. I just constantly rely on my mum to save them when I accidentally dangle death in their pretty little faces (thanks mama). ~ If you have a pretty plant collection or an even prettier space, feel free to email or tag us for a chance to be featured. 10.01.2022 As the year slowly closes to an end (also side note, if someone knows where the hell 2018 went please let me know), I always tend to re-evaluate things. Where Im at, where I want to be, what I need to do to get there. ~ This mood board is chilling in my bedroom and whenever I look at it I always feel so at home, amongst the images of beaches and interiors and whatnot, it always reminds me of who I am. ~ So the next few weeks will be all about realigning and refocusing, rolli...ng with the waves and getting prepped for a hell of a 2019. ~ Do you have something around your home that keeps you focused and reminds you of whats important? 05.01.2022 I would describe my home as a jumbled up gathering of bits and pieces from along the way... ~ Its real life. Filled with things that have meaning (or dont), that tickle my fancy, that reflect me, my husband and our 2 year old daughter. ~ Its certainly not perfectly styled. We have boxes of toys and framed football jerseys on walls. We have cups filled with shells and dog fur all on the sofa. And even though Im an interior designer, we dont really have anything designe...r. But its perfect for us - It fits our life and reflects our lives. 02.01.2022 Did you catch a glimpse of my little home in the Home & Life Magazine in the @smhomemag today? _ In my interview I carry on about how amazing we have it here in the Semaphore area and I did not in any way over embellish. 01.01.2022 Australiana vibes out the wazoo in this gorgeous interior by @fabrikate_creative_spaces in Port Willunga. Theres something about this space that makes you feel a little more connected to the earth - walking barefoot on the concrete floors, sunlight and fresh sea air streaming through the windows, natural materials on almost every surface. Earthy, simple and oh so beautiful. ~ If you or someone you know have a beautiful South Australian home you would like to share, feel free... to email us or use the hashtag #howwelive_here for a chance to be featured.
