09.01.2022 HPS Contractors continued their long standing relationship with Hutchinson Builders to complete the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine (AITHM) at JCU’s Cairns campus. Several divisions were contracted to work on the project, with HPS Sheetmetal manufacturing and installing the unique rainscreens and sunscreens, while HPS Roofing supplied and installed all external roofing, cladding and custom made gutters and downpipes. 06.01.2022 Take a look at the almost completed Cairns West State School Innovation Building designed by Cairns Architects dbARCH. HPS Cutting Solutions and HPS Sheetmetal divisions were engaged by Hutchinson Builders to reproduce the Tree of Knowledge artwork by local indigenous artist Tatipai Barsa onto these fabulous screens. Many hours went into ensuring that not only was the design replicated as closely as possible to the original artwork, but also that the screens were safe, dura...ble and cost effective. The final outcome has created a unique learning space, within what will be an eye-catching building.

03.01.2022 After 22 years of service to HPS Ian ‘Bones’ Foley is hanging up the steel cap boots and hard hat. Bones started with us as a Site Supervisor when we were awarded the Hydraulic package on the Cairns Central project. He obviously made a good impression as ever since he has been an integral part of the HPS Plumbing Team working on a majority of the larger projects we have been awarded. HPS Director, Bruce McDonald, said that there are a lot of young plumbers out there that hav...e their licence thanks to the mentoring and tutoring provided by Bones. We are going to find it hard to replace an employee of Bones standing due to his work ethic and dedication to getting the job done and done right. Everyone from the HPS team hopes you enjoy your retirement, you have earned the beers and fishing trips.

01.01.2022 Our new Excavator delivered to Head Office. We won’t see it this clean again as it starts work on a new subdivision in Goldsborough Valley in the coming weeks.
