23.01.2022 Hi families, week one is busy with Sport back on after School. So good to see kids out and about having fun. We had 90 children at OSHC tonight and a sausage sizzle Thanks to my capable team I was able to chat with a few parents at length. It is a timely reminder that many are doing it a bit tough. Take the time to chat with other parents, offer your ear and support. Hawthorndene has been a strong community for the 14 or so years that I have been involved as a Director. Lets keep it that way. 22.01.2022 Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th Pupil Free days. OSHC will be open from 8am until 5.30pm for children of essential workers and those who may be vulnerable. It is critical that our service is used only where there is no other option as an essential worker. Absolutely no sick children, you will be turned away! 22.01.2022 Children have been making Pinch Pots this morning: manipulating, squeezing, pushing, pinching, smoothing, twisting, pressing. Improving dexterity, building children’s large and small muscles, fostering eye-hand coordination, and even growing children’s ability to focus and promoting longer attention span! Play is learning!!!

18.01.2022 It is that time of the year again STEPtember. Every afternoon for the next two weeks we will be doing laps around the oval at 4pm :) Great to see the kids getting involved and loving it :)

18.01.2022 Advanced warning! Diane has advised that the School has to do some vital work on Tuesday morning. It is scheduled to start at 5.30am and be finished by 7am. The power will be turned off. No guarantees! If families could drop children closer to 7.30 that would help. Arriving earlier with no lights or power will be tricky. 17.01.2022 Before we jump into week two of VACOS, I'd like to thank all the families that have been so accommodating in a busy week one of Vacation Care. A few families were generous enough to volunteer one or more days, early on, to help families that completely missed out. I'm very thankful to you. Special mention to the Pounsett, Bolto, Millard, Landreth and Pobjoy families. As of tomorrow regular charges for Vacation Care apply and any cancellations will incur full fees as normal. Thanks Sam

16.01.2022 Vacation Care Update; I have received over 75 family booking forms for Vacation Care and over 40 extra bookings for week 1 (which happens to be the last week of free childcare). Due to high numbers and staffing arrangements, I am not able to accommodate everyones requests. There are waitlists for each day in week one. If you have made multiple bookings for fun opposed to essential work/study, and are willing to let one of your bookings go to accommodate others, that would... be greatly appreciated. This is purely a request to help families that have missed out completely.. Thank You Sam & Emma

08.01.2022 Hi Families, Re: Tree Climb excursion. We are using current 2020 year levels (as stated on program) to separate the year levels on this day, and most of the program. It's also important you identify your child's height on the booking sheet so I can accurately book children in based on the different course restrictions at The Tree Climb. Children can wear their School hat, a red OSHC hat which can be purchased from the School shop, or one from home. As long as it has a wide brim and is named!
