17.01.2022 The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) recently sought submissions from various bodies about sexual harassment in the workplace. They have now released a report with recommendations. Some of the recommendations include a stop sexual harassment work order to the Fair Work Act and clarification that this behaviour can amount to a valid reason for a dismissal. Another recommendation is the introduction of a positive duty to the Sex Discrimination Act with a preventative focus. Well let you know of changes as this progresses. 13.01.2022 Dont forget, effective 1st July 2020 (or from the beginning of the first pay period after that date) the national minimum wage will be increased by $13 a week, to $753.80 a week.
