18.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Status of current HD clinical trials in Australia Due to the highly contagious nature of the COVID-19 virus currently spreading throughout Australia, significant changes have been made to the scheduling of trial activities for the three international HD clinical trials underway across various sites in Australia. Changes vary site to site due to differences in local requirements. Importantly, all sites will continue to monitor the health and safety of all tr...ial participants currently enrolled in any of these trials. Current trial participants have been informed of these changes. The doctors or other site staff will contact participants when they have clearance to restart in-person trial visits. The companies sponsoring the trials and the site staff in Australia are working together to ensure that trials are able to continue with disruption at a minimum. Given the critical moment in time for limiting the impact COVID-19, the emphasis right now must be on the health and safety of all trial participants and staff, and the wider community. We wish you the best during these uncertain and challenging times.

08.01.2022 Depression is something that affects most people with Huntington's disease at some point in their lifetime, and can have a huge impact on day-to-day functioning. 07.01.2022 Sleep disturbances are a common feature in Huntington's disease (HD) that can significantly impact patients and their families' quality of life and day-to-day functioning. Monash University is now recruiting for a study investigating the importance of sleep quality in HD. This study takes 14 days and is conducted completely remotely using telehealth and a mobile application, which means you do not need to travel anywhere to participate! Participants will be asked to complete at-home sleep monitoring (completing a simple sleep diary and wearing an activity monitor like a FitBit), a cognitive assessment, and questionnaires. Participants will also be reimbursed up to $80 for their time. If you are interested in participating, please email Emily at [email protected].
