25.01.2022 For those looking for something a little different!

24.01.2022 Dear Hackers, In light of the current state of COVID-19 and official advice to implement social distancing, Tuesday Open Nights & Open Saturdays are suspended until at least the 14/04/2020. We will also be closing site access to non-members during this same period. These changes will be revisted at this time, and lifted once deemed safe to do so. A reminder that this is to help protect everyone’s loved ones by flattening the curve, particularly those at risk such as your gran...dparents or the immunocompromised. Classes with ticketed places will not be affected, due to the small numbers of participants involved. We look forward to welcoming the public back as soon possible. Kind Regards, HSBNE Inc

24.01.2022 One of our members made a great coffee table out of recycled hardwood - having access to industrial-quality woodworking tools means projects like this are possible! Finished with 10 coats of tung oil and a satin black steel frame, this was a great belated Xmas present! #makesomethingamazing

19.01.2022 Hot damn! Mike Ando, already world known for some incredible projects in the past has outdone himself, and has in turn featured on @hackaday. What a cool project! Reposted from @riumplus NEW PROJECT FINISHED! I made some artwork out of 21 raw Silicon Wafers, the things computer chips are from. They produce amazing rainbows in the right light & they're held in place with clips modelled off Stargate Chevrons. Full details + microscope photos of the wafers on his site, www.riumplus.com !

14.01.2022 This past wednesday (02.09.20) we meet at the woodshop like every week to keep putting effort on the shop's improvement projects. In this occassion Tim and Max got busy putting up the main compressed air inlet for the shop. We had to put a manifold with a bunch of air fittings and salt peper that with a lot of crazy magic engineering. This is part of a bigger project, the main dust collection, which we have been working for the last meetings. In the same direction, I had to p...ut together a new blast gate for the drum sander and the the drill press. Poor dust collection is the main offender when it comes to poor sand paper performance. The thing gets all clogged up and by the time you noticed the paper has gone to the trash. Lastly but not least, Josh and Murray started to check how we are going to do the demo work for the new roller door that's coming. We need this roller door to get the big cnc inside the shop. This bad boy will be here in any time! So, how come you've read so far and you haven't come to help? Come on! Hoop in on our next meeting like every #wednesday at the #woodchoop around 6pm. . . . . . . See more

12.01.2022 Before and after, our A3-31 Planer Thicknesser getting a great tooth scrubbing, all 50-something of them. Our volunteers maintain all our machines. What would you build with access to one of these?

10.01.2022 Hey Folks! We're sorry we've had to cancel the home automation live stream this evening. We're not quite sure what the problems are but we had multiple people reporting drops out and disconnections. We're going to record a version of it and put it up in the next few days so stay tuned!

08.01.2022 Although our doors are currently closed, we've had quite a few members working on printing PPE for health care workers. These are a few printable face shields that were made by a member and dropped off to Brisbane General and Laser Dentists in Coorparoo. We're hoping to have our doors open in the next few weeks along with the easing of restrictions, and can't wait to see what all of our members have been up to!... #makesomethingamazing
