23.01.2022 FORTS JUNCTION HUB UPGRADE- QPWS advises Forts Junction Hub construction has restarted. There will be NO PARKING and Radical Bay Road will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians for 2-3 weeks. Go to qld.gov.au/MagneticIsland for project updates.

23.01.2022 There are some people you should call in an emergency, and others you definitely should not! You should always phone Triple Zero (000) immediately in an emerge...ncy. If you see smoke or fire, regardless of the size, do not assume someone else will alert QFES. Nearly all large fires were once little fires and we consider these an emergency act quickly as time is of the essence! Remember, do NOT phone your local Fire Warden, Rural Fire Service brigade or Fire & Rescue station. These firefighters may not be in the station and this delays any response to the incident. The number to ring is Triple Zero (000).

19.01.2022 Prepare. Act. Survive. Bushfire could be closer than you think. Prepare your home, property and family now and have your Bushfire Survival Plan in place before bushfire strikes. Prepare for bushfire season An unprepared property is not only at risk itself but may also present an increased danger for neighbours.... Will you leave early? If you plan to leave early, then you must leave your home well before a bushfire threatens and travelling by road becomes hazardous. Will you stay? Preparation is the key to survival, you will need to be mentally and physically ready and have a plan. Tune into warnings Don't assume you will receive a warning as a fire approaches.
