23.01.2022 A really difficult time at the moment for those that have a death of a family member, friend or loved one. An excellent initiative by our local funeral directors to allow you to send a personalised tribute to the family when you are not allowed or not able to be there. Well done to Greeds, Regent Florist and Ivory Print for this excellent initiative during this terrible time. https://fgreedfunerals.com.au/

23.01.2022 It was a very special ceremony to start off 2020. I have known Georgia Bagg since she was only a few hours old. Her Mum and Dad are great friends of ours. I was just delighted when Georgia insisted that l be their celebrant. Georgia and Cam chose an excellent spot at Lake Breeze Winery in Langhorne Creek, SA for their ceremony and reception. They are truly a beautiful couple who l know will compliment each other so well as they continue married life together. Their story was a pleasure to tell to their friends and family and their vows were also something very special as well. A wonderful way to start the year!

22.01.2022 A beautiful place and wedding by the looks!

22.01.2022 A big congratulations to Mr and Mrs Peter Bell on their marriage in Coonawarra at Bellwether Wines. It was a marvellous wedding full of cheekiness and good fun. It was a great pleasure to assist them to make their ceremony so special.

21.01.2022 Today’s wedding in Robe SA was super special. I have known Nicki and her family for over 20 years and unofficially married (with support of an authorised celebrant) her cousin Antony Kokiousis and Kerry Kokiousis nearly two years ago this week. I was just delighted to be able to marry Nicki Stoddart and Henry Veitch in front of the Caledonian Inn over looking the magnificent Guichen Bay. It was hot (34 degrees) in Robe during the wedding but the breeze popped up just at the right time . May they have a wonderful life together and got it started tonight with a willing group of family and friends. Big shout out to Kristal Baker who was a tireless photographer today particularly in the heat. Good job!

21.01.2022 Saturday of the Labour day long weekend saw me venue back to South Australia at Eight Mile Creek for a ceremony to celebrate the marriage of Nell and Joel. An excellent team, Joel a cabinet maker by trade and Nell a graphic designer, combined their skills to furnish Glenhuntly with bespoke signage and furniture that transformed it into a spectacular venue. With family and close friends around them the celebrated their marriage in the warm Autumn sun. They are a wonderful couple and l very much enjoyed telling their story of their journey so far and wish them much happiness for the future.

20.01.2022 I have been a bit quiet on this page for awhile but the few months over December and January have seen me prepare for the Autumn wedding season ahead and undertake several funerals. After a funeral in Hamilton to a great friend who was only a few weeks younger than me, l had the local paper contact me for a story as one of the journalists was sitting in the audience. They were interested in how l balance my job with my hobby. I thank the team at the Hamilton Spectator for the interest. Although there is a couple of things in the article that l would have phrased differently, they have done a great job. I post for your interest.

20.01.2022 Big weekend ahead for weddings. I have one in Tyrendarra today and one in Coonawarra tomorrow. Very much looking forward to telling the story of both couples so far and getting them married. Can’t tell you how much of a privilege it is to be entrusted with their ceremonies.

17.01.2022 This time two years ago l conducted my first offical wedding as an authorised celebrant. It has truly been a wonderful experience. I have had the privilege of assisting over 15 couples with their wedding ceremony, renewed the vows of one couple at a surprise 40th birthday and guided 5 families with the funerals of their loved ones. I have surprised myself at how much l enjoy telling people’s story, with each ceremony providing a special individual memory. Wedding ceremonies ...are such a delight to perform and my couples have just been excellent. To conduct my first same sex and very emotional wedding was a real highlight. To guide a person’s funeral and be trusted by their family to capture the essence of their loved ones life, is honestly something which is a great honour to be asked to do. To all my couples and families thank you so much for the opportunity. You have been very kind to invite me into your lives and share some of your most personal moments with me. You can not underestimate how great a privilege that this is. I look forward to the ceremonies ahead and thank all those who have liked my page for your recommendation. Cheers Hugh

16.01.2022 What a wonderful Spring Day to celebrate the marriage of Aleena and Jason Jackson today in the gardens of the Barn Palais at Mount Gambier. This gorgeous couple were one of the first couples l interviewed when l became a wedding celebrant so it was indeed quite special to finally see them married. They have had quite an 18 months since we first met, including purchasing their first hospitality business together in Port McDonnell and they also look to welcoming their first child together in January 2020. They had given great thought to their vows to each other, which were personal and given loud approval by their family and friends who witnessed the ceremony. A hearty congratulations to you both and may you future together be as wonderful as the love felt for you today.

16.01.2022 With the new enforceable rules regarding weddings during the COVID-19 crisis, it has certainly made for some big adjustments. Social distancing and max of 5 at ceremonies has resulted in several postponements until a more appropriate time. Today though l was able to preside over Steven Spillman and Tricia Inoni’s ceremony in Hamilton. They have a lovely story of resilience and love across two countries and two distinctly different cultures. They brought the wedding forward to allow Trish’s Dad, who has been here several weeks from the Solomon Islands, to make sure he could attend. An excellent couple who l know will continue to make each other very happy in their life in Horsham. Let’s hope this is the last social distancing ceremony l have to perform!

14.01.2022 A traditional western district setting near Wannon Falls was the venue for today’s wedding of Jessica Martin and Tyler Smith. The ceremony was held in the gardens of family friends and the day was a superb 30 degrees. A great couple who shared great humour and love right throughout the day. There was such love from their families and l enjoyed being a part of their special day. #getsmithywithit

13.01.2022 It was a mild spring day at Gazette Homestead, near Penshurst and Macarthur, as a sensational backdrop that provided the venue for Abbie and Stefan’s Wedding. With the arrival of the wedding party in an very quick Porsche, it set the scene for a beautiful ceremony sprinkled with emotion and much love. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Burnell. A gorgeous couple and so pleased they allowed me to conduct their ceremony, the lighting of the memorial lantern through the ceremony was very special. Many thanks to Karla Northcott for taking the photos

12.01.2022 An emotional and most beautiful wedding l was most please to officiate over at Tyrendarra over the weekend. Sophie and Alex were wonderful to marry, very relaxed but knowing exactly what was needed for their special day. The love and support from all those that attended was well evident as the couple tied the knot on Sophie’s Dad’s property. A Scottish touch with Pipe Major Ken Crozier from Hamilton providing some haunting tunes across the paddocks towards the attendees as the bridal party arrived. It was also great to catch up with bridesmaid Abbey Brumby-Rendell and her husband Oscar. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Bartley!

10.01.2022 Who would have thought nearly 30 degrees and 4pm in late March! A wonderful ceremony in their own backyard was the order of the day for Robyn and Rob today in Hamilton. A gorgeous couple that l’m sure will live life to the fullest.

10.01.2022 Another wonderful day in being a celebrant when you can assist your friends in a recommitment ceremony that surprised all those that thought they were attending a 40th birthday celebration (it was a Beach theme hence the informal attire!). Nicole and Craig have been married for 15 years but today their daughters helped them walk down the aisle for the second time. There was disbelief and surprise which made way for tears and laughter as Nicole and Craig reconfirmed their commitment to each other. It was a real privilege to be involved and l’m sure the party tonight will be loud and full of great happiness. Congratulations to you both and may the next stage of married life be as spectacular as the first 15 years.

10.01.2022 The wedding season for Spring is just kicking off and l was so pleased to officiate at Nicole and Rob’s Wedding last Saturday at Bulart. In what was a surprise to family and friends who had gathered for their son’s 1st birthday, l was delighted to tell their story which all began with a swipe to the right on Tinder! I’m sure there is a fabulous future together for a couple who have found love later in life, but are so obviously so very much in love. Congratulations to you both. Thanks for taking the photo Amber Thomas

10.01.2022 What a wonderful day and a traditional Western Victorian setting for Leah and Gerard’s wedding. Comfortable attire and lamb on the spit were the order of the day for this excellent couple. It was a real privilege to tell their story and look forward to seeing their next chapter unfold. Thanks for a fun afternoon of laughter and love! You can just see the Grampians National Park in the left hand side of the image.

09.01.2022 Two more snaps from Robert and Nicole’s wedding ceremony amongst the red gums of Red Rock Rd. Thanks again to photographer Amber Thomas.

06.01.2022 A drizzly start to a Sunday, could not prevent the warmth and great love exuded from Lydia and Corey this morning, as l married them in the rotunda of the Hamilton Botanic Garden. Together for over 17 years they felt the time was right to formally commit to each other in a simple ceremony witnessed by Corey’s parents, their two daughters Nadia and Trinity, and their much loved pet of 15 years -Bobby . Congratulations to you both may the next stage of your life together give you as much joy as the first 17 years.

05.01.2022 This was a very special wedding ceremony for me as l gave Charlie his first job as a dish washer in the late 1990’s and have watched him grow into a wonderful young man. He and Tracey chose a special place on their family farm where Charlie’s parents were married in the early 1970’s. Tracey and Charlie were very relaxed surrounded by family, friends and around 60 head of cattle looking on over the fence! Their two dogs were not going to miss the action and have been wonderfully capture by Perrie Thomas in his sneak peak attached. Big shout out to all involved in adapting to trying weather that did its best to blow us all away!

05.01.2022 Had a fantastic night as master of ceremonies for the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority’s Environmental Awards for 2019. Some wonderful contributions to the community through land care and waterways volunteering

03.01.2022 It was a wonderful way to reconnect, with my first wedding since before the COVID lockdowns in late March. Yesterday was a perfect Spring day in the Hamilton Botanic Gardens for the wedding ceremony of Britt and Kyle. I have known Britt and her family for many years and it was such a delight to tell their story and share the day with a restricted number of their family and friends. Wishing Britt and Kyle the very best for their future together. Britt Schuller
