12.01.2022 "Huglife" An idea that occurred to me last year which I thought was original until I googled it. Im not referring to (or infringing upon) the kids clothing store in Melbourne, nor detracting from the female wrestler who uses it as a slogan. Im talking about the moment when the world is doing ts best to break you... One thing after another; when you feel under attack from ignorant and violent forces... When youd have every right to throw punches and hurl vile insu...lts at every person who dares cross your path. In that moment, when you feel the anger and rage threaten to spill out, when your nerve endings are singing with adrenaline and pure ready to fight... When you breath in, and choose a loving response (aka killing them with kindness) that choice of love over violence... That is Huglife. Christians call it "The parable of the good Samaritan" The Dalai Lama describes it as widening the circle of loving relationships. Anyone can love a neighbour... But can you love your enemy? In accordance with the universal law of balance, I also love myself enough not to allow harm to come to me... I will defend myself. "It is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence... But a choice between non violence and non existence." Peace, love and respect.
