22.01.2022 Start the day off well. Nutrition is the base of the CrossFit pyramid and you certainly can not out train poor nutrition. My focus going forward is to add more vegetables to my diet and for me the easiest way is to blend it up into a smoothie! Try to put veg into each main meal and you will be amazed at how well you feel when your body has its nutrient requirement met. Add more of the good stuff and slowly remove the bad stuff! Look online for delicious green smoothie recip...es! Have a great day, Coach Faz

10.01.2022 Throwback Thursday The HG Story: Part 2 Where did HG begin? 19 November, 2018 we took possession of our Forrestfield venue and 40 days later we were open to the public. During that 40 days, I would still go to school teaching 2 days a week (up until school holidays) and run my CrossFit classes at home in the afternoons. Straight after my classes I would go back to Forrestfield and do more work until 10 - 12pm at night. My dad, Vic, worked by my side along with Renee and the g...irls. We were also so grateful for the help from our awesome members setting up in December 2018. Man it was hectic but so much fun! Sophie, Kirri and Bruce came along to a CrossFit level 1 coaching course on the 13/14 Jan 2019 and have been coaching with us ever since. Tori joined us in July 2019 and began coaching shortly after completing her level 1 CrossFit coaching course. So from Jan 2019 to Jan 2020 our member base grew from a modest 40 members to 140 members. HG has become so much more than just a CrossFit gym. To us its a family! A healthy, fit and connected family who will kick arse well into their old age. We very much look forward to serving our members once again at Human Garage CrossFit Forrestfield in the very near future. Much love, Coach Faz See more

10.01.2022 Coach Bruce in ROCK-tober What is your all time favourite rock song? My favourite rock song has to be Creep by Radiohead.

09.01.2022 Top Tips by Coach Kirri 1) Drink water. You almost cannot underestimate the difference this makes for training (and for life!). Water supports our entire being, from brain function to muscle function to healing. Get hydrated! 2) When in doubt about training... turn up anyway! The only workouts we regret are the ones we didnt do. Even if you are injured or feeling a bit low we can always find a way for you to join in safely. You will probably even feel better! 3) Explore podc...asts. I recommend Lewis Howes School of Greatness for motivation and great information. 4)Watch your self talk! We often use our inner voice to beat ourself up in a workout. (or in life!) Make sure that you are speaking positively. I guarantee that you will perform better or recover quicker if you are encouraging yourself the same way you would encourage a friend. Kindness is super powerful, so make sure you are using that power on yourself too! See more

05.01.2022 Throwback Thursday The HG Story: Part 1 Where did HG begin? For me it all begun from a very early age. I had a deep passion for human performance, rehab and longevity. Other people noticed what I was doing myself and in 2013, Tim Elliot, was the first person to attend our single Garage home gym. He had just sustained a serious motorbike injury and needed to get back on his feet again. Kirri joined us soon after followed by her friend Sue and Sues two kids, Ari and Mia. Then ...Nancy and family and it just began growing. Within 3 years (2016)we moved to the back shed and were running out of 90 square metres. Numbers kept growing from a modest 15 to eventually 40 people by 2018. It then became very apparent we needed to get a commercial premises. Stay tuned for Part 2. See more
