23.01.2022 Today we arrived at the office to this gorgeous artwork created for us by a young person in our Activ8 program. What a beautiful gift for us to hang on the wall of our office to inspire us every day with the transformative power of Human Nature's programs

23.01.2022 We hope you are enjoying this holiday time. Human Nature were able to make Christmas a little extra special this year for some of our program participants thanks to a generous donation from our long term supporters, The Seaton Foundation. Our team packed up and delivered 50 present hampers to young people in the Northern Rivers in the run up to Christmas and they were absolutely thrilled to receive them! "hey Jen I just saw jack thank you so much for the package I really app...reciate you all so much thank you for everything love you guys lots and lots sending you all hugs and love through the holidays thank you!!!" "thank you for the hamper, most importantly thank you for helping me through my year and through my past present and future HNAT has changed my life forever no thank you message or christmas present is large enough to express it, i hope to work with you HNAT and all the Elev8 and Recre8 programs as much as i can" "we just got home to find the human nature present, thanks so much!!!! i really appreciate it"

19.01.2022 We couldn't be more proud of our Ambassador, the fabulous Mandy Nolan Over this past confronting year of change and disruption to lives, livelihoods, communities and dreams, so many of us have wondered 'what more can I do?' Stepping forward isn't always easy, especially when it's onto a path you've never travelled before. It's something we see in the young people we work with every day at Human Nature. The courage to step forward and say 'I'm not OK but I'm ready and willing to do the really hard work to heal and grow and evolve' Thank you Mandy for being a courageous role model as we think about our path forward in 2021. As we all look for inspiration and hope in the midst of struggle. Not everyone can consider running for political office, but perhaps we can all make the decision to step forward in our own way

19.01.2022 Over the past month this awesome group of young men from Hodges House have been prepping & fundraising to support Human Nature for their 30km charity walk all the way from North Sydney to Manly! The event was planned for today but has been postponed to keep everyone safe in this not so walk-friendly weather. All of us at Human Nature still wanted to send out a huge thank you to the young men, teachers, volunteers and supporters at Hodges House who have already helped rais...e an incredible $11,665 to support our youth mental health programs. How awesome is that? The rainbow through the storm clouds is that there's still time to donate to this wonderful initiative being led by young people for young people. Perhaps this was Mother Nature's plan all along? Link below to learn more about the walk and sign up for updates on the rescheduled date!

17.01.2022 Warrior Women. Such a perfect description of the young women we have the privilege of working with at Human Nature Recently a fearless group from across our Recre8, Activ8 and Elev8 programs attended the Warrior Women program facilitated by incredible youth safety advocate, speaker and trainer Lily Isobella During the session they learned real life self defence skills, situational awareness, using your voice to defend and empower yourself & the importance of Sister Supp...ort - surrounding yourself with like minded kick ass women who have your back. The feedback was profound: "I now want to do more powerful things with my body" "I love the strength that comes from women being together, being real" "I have a feeling of strength and determination" "I love the feeling it gave me. I didn't know I was that strong" We love our work - connecting young people with opportunities like these where they can feel strong, vibrant and empowered

16.01.2022 At Human Nature, our whole team subscribes to the ethos that nature is our office. Doing things within four walls for too long just doesn't feel natural, and being out in nature inspires and fuels our unique way of connecting with young people. It's no surprise that our Board Chair, Scott Beachley, lives and breathes this ethos every day. Daily trips to the beach are mandatory and shoes are always optional Over the past few weeks Scott and his son have been spending time g...etting familiar with their new inflatable SUP to keep them grounded and smiling in the outdoors during the covid restrictions in Sydney. Extra special is that Scott purchased the new SUP through iRocker who have also donated SUP's to Human Nature for our Activ8 sessions. Such a full circle moment as we all work together to promote the mental health benefits of adventure and time spent in nature really connecting with what matters - each other. Thank you, Scott for inspiring us by truly walking the talk!

15.01.2022 At the start of the year our fabulous Ambassador, Mandy Nolan gave our young people at Human Nature a massive dose of inspiration when she stepped forward to become the Greens candidate for Richmond. As she shared in her post: "Hello politics, Mandy Nolan is stepping forward...yes I can work to change the narrative...yes I could have real conversations...yes I can and have been taken seriously...yes I can be of service." Our young people had the chance to get to know and be i...nspired by Mandy last year when she facilitated an incredible storytelling workshop for Human Nature. Seeing their role model step forward in such a courageous way sent a powerful message and two participants in our Elev8 program - Anna and Vivani - decided they wanted to interview Mandy to learn more. That led to this awesome interview series...Under the Yarning Tree. We hope you enjoy this first interview focusing on youth mental health. We can't wait to share more wisdom from Anna, Vivani and Mandy!

10.01.2022 We have come a long way in five years - our founding vision of taking small groups of young people on adventure therapy expeditions has now blossomed into a suite of four interconnected programs all designed to meet young people where they are, connecting them to a positive experience of therapy and building a community of support to sustain and nurture their whole selves as they transition to young adulthood. We're so excited to celebrate this milestone with our wonderful community and all of those who have made it possible including our incredible program team, donors, supporters and the young people who show up and engage with our programs. Here's to even bigger and better things in the next five!
