On 17 November 1873, three neighbouring cities located on the banks of the Danube, namely "Pest", "Buda" and "Óbuda" were united with the name "Budapest" given to the new capital. 10.01.2022 Today we commemorate the day in 1848 when Hungarians began a #revolution and freedom fight that emerged among a number of uprisings in Europe in the 19th century. On 15 March, citizens of Pest gathered in front of the National Museum and demanded #independence from Habsburg rule. The refrain of Sándor Petfi's poem #Nemzeti dal (National song), which asks: "Shall we be slaves or men set free?" gave inspiration for Hungarians to stand up against the oppression of the Austr...ian Empire. On our national day let's remember our compatriots of every generation for whom #freedom and independence meant more than anything. Dr. Mikola István, Magyarország canberrai nagykövete vasárnap ünnepélyes megemlékezés keretében méltatta a "leghíresebb magyar" életmvét. The statue of #Ferenc Puskás, legendary Hungarian football player has regained its former glory. In the framework of an official ceremony, on Sunday, Dr. István Mikola, Ambassador of Hungary commemorated Ferenc Puskás, one of the true giants of world football in Melbourne's Olympic Park.

06.01.2022 Today we are celebrating the #Day of the #Hungarian Culture. We commemorate 22 January 1823 when the manuscript of the Hungarian national anthem, called "Himnusz" was completed by Ferenc Kölcsey. 1989 óta minden év janurár 22-én ünnepeljük a #magyar kultúra napját annak emlékére, hogy Kölcsey Ferenc 1823-ban ezen a napon tisztázta le és jelölte meg dátummal a Himnusz kéziratát. Ezen a napon #Dragomán György kortárs magyar írót idézzük:... "Azt hiszem, a helyes élet az, ha úgy élünk, hogy minden napunk a magyar kultúra napja legyen, hogy minden nap megpróbáljunk olvasni, nézni vagy hallgatni valami nagyon jót, olyat, amitl többek lehetünk, olyat, amitl azt érezzük, érdemes élni."
