24.01.2022 Balance is something that we often take for granted until it's too late. Research has demonstrated that individuals are more likely to have a fall if they have difficulty balancing on one leg. A simple way to improve your balance is by practicing at home! Set yourself up by standing next to the kitchen bench. Try balancing on one leg whilst counting down from 20 seconds. If this starts to become easy then close your eyes and go again. By doing this on a daily basis you should start to see improvements in your balance over a few weeks.

17.01.2022 2020, what a ride... We could never have planned for the year that has been. The world was forced to make changes at a rapid pace, with that our team adapted and kept moving forward with zero fuss. In a time that could have destroyed us, we are so proud and grateful to not only have the team we have but the clients that support us along the way. We not only stayed afloat but managed to grow and look forward to what 2021 has to bring. Wishing you all a safe, healthy and happy new year

15.01.2022 You may have noticed that the clinic was closed yesterday Tim and Ryan (aka the boys) decided to reward their staff with a team bonding day and what a day it was! We headed to Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley where we laughed and chatted for hours about all things HPP and fun facts about each other over morning tea, coffee and lunch. As if that wasn't enough the day ended with 18 holes of golf and a spa room complete with massages... Blown away at the generosity, to feel appreciated within your workplace is a gift on its own. We are all smiling ear to ear.

15.01.2022 It wouldn't feel like Christmas if we didnt get in touch and send the seasons greetings to our clients and followers who mean so much. May the true meaning of Christmas fill your heart and home with many blessings and treasured memories. Merry Christmas

15.01.2022 One of the things I tell my clients frequently is to gradually increase a new activity into your life. In July I decided late on a Wednesday night to do a Triathlon the very next Sunday. Race Analysis:... Swim: I hadn’t swum in over a year, 5 minutes in I honestly looked to see where the lifeguards were and thought about pulling out as I felt like I was going to drown Ride: Felt good, felt strong Run: Not a natural runner but was motivated not to let my very fit Ironman finisher Sister-in-law catch me Moral of the story: I was buckled for 2 days afterwards, progressive overload is a better option when trying new things. -Ryan

14.01.2022 Will the physio "put my muscles back in place"? We get asked this a lot, it's an interesting one. After years of working, we're still not sure where people think the muscles are going! The good news is that your muscles don't wander or get out of place. Sometimes they get sore though. And sometimes we can think our muscles feel hard or lumpy too. ... Most of the time this is because the muscle isn't getting an appropriate load. Maybe we need to take some load off them and give them a break. Maybe we need to load them a little more and make them stronger so that they can cope. We know, getting a massage can feel good and you can get up thinking you're on top of the world. If we keep loading muscles poorly though then we're back to square one. Use that window of feeling good afterwards to do corrective exercises so you can feel great every day! There are many ways to keep yourself strong and healthy, here is Tim doing what he loves

14.01.2022 One of the goals Ashlee (Physio) set for herself was to drink more water. This is an important goal because we live in a warm climate. Any time we are outside, especially now, getting the yard ready for family Christmas or out enjoying Christmas activities we lose water through sweat. Sweating too much without drinking can lead to dehydration. Being dehydrated can be the cause of: constant muscle fatigue... dizziness ongoing muscle weakness frequent headaches So if you experience any of these symptoms it is important to drink some water and contact your GP.

12.01.2022 COVID-19 lockdown was an experience not many of us expected to see in our lifetime. Ryan is just noticing the effects... We appreciate the efforts you are making as you enter our clinic by sanitising, keeping distance where possible and wearing a mask to help ensure we don't need to go through that again

10.01.2022 The winner of the Diamond Collection hamper didn’t waste any time picking up her beautiful hamper, enjoy!

10.01.2022 We hope your Easter has been extra bright and happy this year.

05.01.2022 In our practice we use dry needling alongside targeted exercises to help reduce pain and improve movement. How does this work? When a muscle is overloaded or injured it can develop trigger points. These can be felt as tight bands within the muscle which may be painful to touch. We identify these trigger points and insert the needle into the area with the intention of getting the muscle to twitch. ... Once this response is achieved, the muscle will relax, and you should experience less pain and increased range of movement. As a result, you will be able to perform your prescribed exercises with more ease. Ashlee

03.01.2022 The bikers for kids Newcastle toy run was to head off on their 43rd annual event, but due to covid, the bike run has been cancelled. However, they are still working towards helping disadvantaged families by providing toys for kids that would otherwise go without this Christmas. We have decided to help and invite you to do the same, our Christmas tree is up and we will be collected unwrapped toys until Saturday 28th November for delivery early December. ... "Our communities donations and continued support of the toy run are truly appreciated and needed"
