24.01.2022 We are looking for foster carers

23.01.2022 Over the long weekend a week ago, we had several calls for help for a few dogs... Due to the nature and urgency of the surrenders, we made the decision to ask for help from our friends at Hi - Five Boarding Kennels. We cannot thank Hi-Five enough for answering our call and opening their kennels to our newest recruits and looking after them so well while we made further calls on their future placements.... Without their help, we would not have been in a position to help these dogs for their needs are quite special, despite their gorgeous looks. We will be introducing them all to you shortly but for now we just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to Ali and the team at Hi-Five and everyone else who helped and supported us with giving Luna, Conan and Max a second chance

His mum during his short stay wanted to leave a word for any potential homes: Just some feedback about Shadow for anyone else interested in future Fine with our indoor cat, very friendly and gentle Great with our other dogs Settled very quickly Travels in the car very well Bonded quickly and definitely knows his name! The most lovely dog For now Shadow is back with his fursister and as you can see she had been missing him To adopt Shadow, please contact us.

18.01.2022 Hali - 3yo husky female Those who have been following us for some time may remember our Hali baby from 2017. Hali came to us at 11wo and we soon discovered she had a number of health issues with her kidneys and ureter which required a life saving surgery. Hali’s story was published in The West Australian and generous people donated towards our biggest vet bill to date.... https://www.perthnow.com.au/.../ill-equipped-owners... After her surgery, she was adopted by her committed foster carers who have always placed her needs first and have spent so much to ensure Hali had the best life possible. Alas, 2020 being one of these years that will be infamously remembered for its challenges, tragedy struck our lovely adoptive family and they have no other choice but to pack up and move back to Europe to look after elderly relatives. Of course, Hali was on the top of their minds and while they considered every option to keep the family together, after consulting with us, we all agreed that the best decision for Hali would be to stay here. We would like to ask people to please respect this decision which is not an easy one for everyone involved and please trust that the best decision has been made with Hali’s best interest in minds and hearts. So after delaying this post for as long as we could because it simply breaks all our hearts, we are now looking for a new home for our Hali baby. Hali is a dog social, kid friendly, affectionate baby who has the cheekiest attitude and the cutest of smiles. Despite her start in life, she is now very healthy, albeit some minor leaks due to her ectopic ureter repair. For people interested in adopting Hali, we will ask that you do your research on the breed and on kidney and ectopic ureter surgeries in dogs so you understand that Hali is still a special needs baby. To apply, please complete the form below: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/AD9d7ebfeZ9Mq

10.01.2022 As a rehoming agency, our focus is on the dogs in our care and we dont believe in posting about their background because a dog can present in many different ways depending on the environment they have found themselves in we always take the approach of talking through a dogs background with suitable homes as opposed to posting things and we like to disclose all history known to us at the time to potential homes before they meet our dogs so they know what to expect. Over th...e public holiday weekend, we were asked to help 3 dogs all three came to us following biting incidents. Very tragic, unfortunate, awful biting incidents. 1) Why did we agree to take them in? Because we believe we can help these dogs. Because under the right care, training or environment, we believe these dogs have a future. 2) What would have happened have we not stepped in? These dogs would have been euthanised. 3) What have we done since taking these dogs in? First, following each incident, the dogs were placed in kennels so we could assess them in a secure and safe environment, in the care of experienced handlers. We then contacted a behaviourist trainer to assess each of these dogs and a complete assessment was conducted. One of the dogs is currently undergoing in-house training with a qualified trainer. We are now looking for very specific homes with a very strict set of criteria for them to be rehomed to. 4) Why are we not posting about the incidents on the dogs profile? We are respecting the previous familys wishes for privacy and they agreed for us to only disclose information relating to the incidents to screened suitable homes only before any meet with the dog. Here the simple truth: 1) We wont apologise for saving a dogs life even when it appears some people may have preferred for them to be euthanised. 2) We have followed a very strict process dealing with each situation and would apply it through to adoption. 3) We are spending a lot more on these dogs that any of their adoption fees will ever cover so saying we are doing it for the money is very uneducated. Now, these dogs deserve a chance at a new life so lets focus on finding them the right homes

10.01.2022 It just dawned on us that we are only a few weeks from tax time We feel like weve just blinked and missed nearly half of the year.. and we still have so much to do If you have money to spare and looking for a charity to support before the end of financial year, we are a tax deductible gift recipient

Not suited to homes with kids or pocket pets. To express interest in adopting Max, please complete the form below: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/AD9d7ebfeZ9Mq

09.01.2022 We have 12 Xmas bags left!! Get yours quickly before they all go

09.01.2022 With everything going on around us, we are getting ready for the next few weeks and with that in mind we have a few announcements: 1) We are always looking for foster carers so if you are in a position to open your home and heart to a new companion, please reach out! 2) If you are struggling with your dogs and need any help at all, please reach out! There are many ways we can help ... 3) If you have one of our dogs on trial, we will be contacting you in regards to adoption. 4) Like many other rescue groups, we rely on funding we raise while attending a lot of dog friendly events, markets etc. which have now all been cancelled until further notice. So if you are in a position to help your local shelters or rescue groups, do reach out because they will all appreciate the help. Thank you all for the support during this unsettling time Cute photo of our Sienna wondering what all the fuss about coronavirus really means for her... she fell asleep after all that brainstorming!

08.01.2022 Gorgeous Eclipse is looking for her new home. This lovely lady may be 10yo but she still has plenty of love to give

06.01.2022 A few days ago we came across a post stating that most people want puppies instead of old unwanted rescue dogs.. This statement is quite frankly highly uneducated and was coming from someone justifying their choice to backyard breed. Here is a little education for that person:... Not all rescue dogs are old - we also get puppies and teenage dogs Not all rescue dogs are unwanted - they are often really loved but circumstances make it difficult for owners to keep them Most people actually want to adopt rescue dogs because these dogs are not broken, they don’t have baggage and are full of love and life Adopting a rescue dog not only changes one dog’s life but usually changes the life of the new owners too and is the most rewarding experience So here we go, we would love to see all the unwanted dogs from this page or other rescues who are now living their best lives.. GO!

04.01.2022 Is it the right time to adopt? Well, we'd like to think there is never a right time to adopt as adopting is a decision that is made with a lot of consideration when the right dog comes along.. 01.01.2022 We have a big request and are looking for a special home with an amazing foster carer for a dog needing surgery with an expected recovery of 6 months which will involve a lot of time in crates, a few trips to our vet and mostly a lot of affection and gentle care. You will be rewarded with endless gratitude and lots of love from an adorable 7yo husky boy. As the big boy would need a quiet home, we would prefer a home with no other dogs.... Other than that we are open to offers and would provide support. If you think you can help, please message us.
