25.01.2022 Heres our Customer & Haulage manager Mick delivering letters to residents of Halls Road in Myrtleford. This is all part of our commitment to good working relationships with the community, and proactive engagement with local shires. In this instance we are hauling through a residential neighbourhood that hasnt had this type of traffic for a number of years. We ensure residents are notified in advance of this change to conditions on their road and so they know how to contact us if they have any feedback or concerns. Avoiding surprises helps smooth the way forward for us all.

24.01.2022 PLANTING OF VEGETATION CORRIDORS SUPPORTS LOCAL WILDLIFE Almost 70 hectares of land is being revegetated near one of the region’s most popular tourist attractio...ns to support the movement and protection of native wildlife. As part of a decade long restoration plan, forest owners HVP Plantations in consultation with the Nature Glenelg Trust are revegetating two sites bordering its Rennick pine estate, the Palpara campsite and Honeysuckle-Airstrip, in an effort to create habitat corridors. Located on the state border, both sites are in close proximity to the popular Princess Margaret Rose Caves and Lower Glenelg National Park which attract tens of thousands of tourists annually. 23.01.2022 As part of our Health and Wellbeing Initiative we have run Mental Health First Aid Training company wide with close to 50 staff attending. The nationally accredited two-day training has taught staff about depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance abuse problems, as well as panic attacks, traumatic events and suicidal thoughts and behaviours. The course destigmatises poor mental health and has allowed participants to feel more confident in how to approach a friend, colleague, family member or stranger who might be struggling with their mental health #mhfa

22.01.2022 A planned road upgrade and harvesting have been postponed in an area of our plantations in the south west of the state due to the return of a family of brolgas to the location to breed. The area has been closed to equipment and trucks until the Brolgas have finished nesting for the summer. It is great to see Brolgas happily nesting in and around our plantations.

22.01.2022 HVP continues to work hard on fire suppression. We value all the support from our staff, contractors and community over the past 2 weeks. Protection for the communities surrounding HVP plantations is critical, and we are working hard to bring control to the fires in the plantations across our estate. We continue to urge everyone to follow the Vic Emergency app for updates.

21.01.2022 Newly reconfigured road trains can transport 38 per cent more sawlog from our plantations, meaning fewer trucks on the roads! Performance-Based Standards (PBS) vehicles are designed to perform their tasks as productively, safely and sustainably as possible, and to operate on networks that are appropriate for their level of performance. Visit our website for detailed information about our new PBS A-double vehicles operating in the South West.

20.01.2022 We are conducting burns in the Yallourn North area tomorrow, Thursday 25 July and Friday 26 July, as part of our fire prevention strategy. Smoke will be visible from Moe, Newborough, Maryvale, Morwell and Tyers and nearby communities. The mid-winter burns have been planned in coordination with DELWP, EPA, Latrobe Council and CFA to minimise the impact to the local community. Road travel may be hazardous due to low visibility associated with smoke, and if you experience any sy...mptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, you should seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Regular updates will be available on our website.

15.01.2022 Our foresters Prue and Steve measuring tree heights to help plan for the first thinning harvest of this plantation. Thinning reduces the competition for sunlight, water and nutrients for the remaining trees, so they can grow more wood.

12.01.2022 World Environment Day Today, June 5th is World Environment Day https://www.worldenvironmentday.global/... At HVP Plantations, we dont just manage planted pine and eucalyptus crops, we also manage, maintain, and enhance more than 48,000 hectares of native forest. We do not harvest any native forest, but HVP staff practice a care for nature attitude through all their daily plantation management activities across the entire HVP estate. One example of this care for nature attitude was a recent effort to eliminate exotic pest plants like common blackberry within the bushfire impacted native forests in the Ovens Valley near Carboor, VIC. This effort lasted 5 weeks and covered more than 350 hectares - thats the size of more than 200 MCG ovals! By removing blackberry from these forests, native plant species are more likely to germinate and recolonise forests after the bushfire impact. Increasing native plants allows native biodiversity to flourish. At HVP, we strive to manage all the forest assets of the Company to deliver optimal value to our investors and responsible stewardship of these forests for economic, environmental and social benefits. HVP has many other active stewardship projects across the entire estate, from enhancing rare ecological vegetation areas in southwest Victoria to supporting conservation research for iconic Australian wildlife like the South Gippsland koala population commonly referred to as The Strzelecki koala. Check out the Grey-headed flying foxes in SW Vic! At HVP, we dont just do things for the environment on one specific day, we practice good stewardship of the environment everyday. 09.01.2022 The tethering of harvester machines, widely adopted in New Zealand, has allowed for improvements in safety and environmental outcomes on our very steep slopes. The tether stabilises the machine and reduces the likelihood of it slipping. This also helps with operator fatigue.

03.01.2022 HVP Plantations is conducting silvicultural burning operations in Gippsland today, between Rosedale and Longford.
