11.01.2022 New Year’s Eve is going to be different this year if you or your loved one has been identified as a close contact to a confirmed case of COVID-19. Even though o...n New Year’s Eve you won’t be physically together with family and friends, you can still celebrate and create memories, by: Staying connected with your family and friends via telephone, email or social media and watching the fireworks broadcast live at midnight on ABC TV. Asking your family, friends or other members of the household to drop off a special meal to your front door. If this is not possible, you could order groceries or a meal online or by telephone. Remember it is important to look after your mental health during isolation. Think about how you have coped with difficult situations in the past and reassure yourself that you will cope with this situation too. Remember that isolation won’t last for long. Exercise regularly at home. Options could include exercise DVDs, dancing, floor exercises, yoga, walking around the backyard or using home exercise equipment if you have it. Exercise is a proven treatment for stress and depression. Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say after R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK. There's more to say after R U OK?... Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. 02.01.2022 Today was a stretching day for our kids class. Why stretching is important? Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. GREAT WORK!
