The service w...ill support the AHWFN to keep Aghan / Hazara families safe and well by providing their community with weekly and rapid COVID updates including priority messages and significant announcements that are collated directly from Government sources, translated by professional in-community translators (in text and audio for varying literacy levels), and sent through the community's established direct messaging networks. This service is led by the community for the community - with Community Four managing the "back end" infrastructure to support the AHWFN to do what they do best - which is responding to their community's needs. 19.01.2022 here is our hard working team behind the online classes that started today. AHWFN classes have resumed today even in the lockdown period. yes we know how to look after each other from the Covid19. phisycal distancing..... so, the only option was to start an online teaching to our keen learner students for the classes of literacy numeracy computer spoken english and practicing citizenship test. We proudly have organised zoom classes for 16 ladies who have learned computoer skills a bit and now can manage to be in the online class from their home. the team leader Sheryl Tyler and the staff Kaneez and Marzia are passionately busy with their job. also our volunteers are stand by if they could assist with the conversation part of the curriculum. very well done to the team .. Victoria's outbreaks are occurring in areas surrounding migrant and refugee communities. Many women in these communities not only struggle with English, but they also lack basic literacy due to being denied formal schooling in their countries of origin. Broadcasting COVID information in different languages on the internet will not reach the most vulnerable. The Australian Hazara Women's Friendship Network Inc.-AHWFN and Community Four need more volunteers for our onl...ine conversational English Language Program. This is an important role that supports Hazara women to self-empower through targeted English language development. Interested? Here's what you need to know: We are looking for capable, self-motivated volunteers to hold a one-on-one conversational English session via Zoom. Sessions are once a week for 30 minutes with one of our students from the Community Four/Australian Hazara Women's Friendship Network English program. This is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to someone keen to improve their English. You will be required to schedule a Zoom meeting with your student each week. Lesson ideas will be provided but you are free to follow your's and your student's areas of interest. This could involve sewing, cooking, gardening etc. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact us at [email protected]

13.01.2022 corona virus update statement from our president Zakia Baig. hello to all brave and able people of Victoria. I am Zakia Baig from AHWFN... I am grateful that we have almost defeated the Coved 19. but we need to be very careful untill the vaccine is out and reached to every single person in Victoria. well done to us all and to the Victoria Government. as co-workers of the State Government Organizations like AHWFN and C4 are responsible to update you with all corona related informations . one of the great works of the AHWFN is establishing the Helath Direct project. all corina related informations via Viber and Whatsup are delivered to users instantly. these informations are in Hazaragi language you can hear and read them. and share them with your friends and familes. Health direct is available at our Facebook page. please copy the link and share. from 22 November the Vic Government will ease the restrictions more but we need to be carefull even after that too.
