25.01.2022 Congratulations on completing your 4th dan black belt (stage 2) judo element. All our HSD instructors train seperately every week doing their own syllabus/training/grading practice to ensure that on Thursday nights they are free to teach. Don't worry HSD crew you will get to see a snippet on grading day (so I won't put spoiler footage up now) definately deserve the mastery level title tonight you 3! Shihan Shannan

15.01.2022 Meet Charlie and Krysta. They met at HSD & have been training together 7years, they have developed a solid friendship, their focus & dedication has developed impressive skillsets in karate, judo, jujitsu & pressure point techniques for their young ages. Yesterday I witnessed a potentially dangerous situation that Krysta used skills taught at HSD to make herself safe and I couldn't have been more proud. For me as an emergency nurse I see situations daily of domestic violence,... assaults, drug & alcohol related dangerous behaviour, trauma's ie stabbings and sadly many of our students begin training for reasons of bullying. So teaching practical self defence skills, to me personally is an invaluable life skill I believe everyone should have. We are blessed as instructors to watch our talented student develop every Thursday. Over the years many of our students have told me situations of how HSD has helped them in some way, I'm not sure it's my place to share them, but please write them in comments below if you are happy to share, I'm sure others would love to hear them. 02.01.2022 Congratulations Liana on your Shodan-ho! Liana has been training with us 10years she started in junior class at age 6yo and has transitioned into seniors. This is a glimpse of her grading (1st ever she is unable to do on grading day). We are so proud of you. This is what HSD is all about, knowing our students have the capability to defend themselves. We can't wait to watch the rest of the clubs performance at grading tomorrow.
