16.01.2022 If you have recently arrived in South Australia from New South Wales and have been to any of the locations at the times listed below, please self-isolate immediately. Get tested if you develop any symptoms, no matter how mild. Visit sahealth.sa.gov.au/COVIDtesting for testing locations

14.01.2022 9%... It seems like such a small number, almost insignificant, but when we remove 9% of items or context from our day-to-day lives, the number becomes a lot mor...e notable. You wouldn’t upload a photo with 9% missing, right? 9% of Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer don't survive five years. Our mission of Zero Deaths by 2030 hopes to shift the 91% survival rate to 100% by funding world-class research. We need your support more than ever in the countdown to 2030. 14.01.2022 No matter your child’s age, preparing them for a COVID-19 test will help make the experience a little easier for them. . Here are a few tips on how to prepare ...your child: Paint a picture for them: describe in age appropriate detail what they can expect before you head out. This should include where they will go, who will be there, what they will see and how long it will take. Let them know that friendly staff will be wearing masks, caps, gowns and gloves to protect themselves and others from getting sick. Keep them distracted during the wait with their favourite toy, books, music, or a movie/TV show on your phone or tablet. Explain that they’ll put a little stick with a soft end in their nose and mouth, and that it won’t hurt but might feel funny. Plan a fun ‘reward’ that they will get at home after the test (your child will need to self-isolate until they’ve received a negative test result and their symptoms have resolved). . If your child doesn’t like being touched or gets scared in clinical settings, please let the staff know and they’ll work out a way to keep your child feel calm and comforted. See more

14.01.2022 From today, masks will no longer be mandatory for: people present in health care settings (this includes staff and visitors at residential aged care facilitie...s) people working in personal care services (hairdressers, beauty salons, tattoo parlours and similar businesses). Face masks are an additional physical barrier and help to stop the spread of COVID-19. At this time in South Australia it is not mandatory for the general community, but it is recommended to wear a mask when out in public if you are unable to physically distance from others. 04.01.2022 A liquid biopsy can help detect traces of breast cancer in the blood. How does it work? - Tiny parts of a cancer tumour can break away and circulate within a p...atient’s bloodstream. - These tiny fragments can include DNA from the tumour, which can provide researchers with information about the cancer. - A/Prof Dobrovic’s new test will be able to detect tiny traces of cancer DNA in a blood sample, leading to earlier detection and more effective treatment options.Your support will fund research like A/Prof Dobrovic's.
