21.01.2022 To all Friends of Lot 6 We are very sad to hear of the passing away of one of our original directors The amazing passionate Rod Barrett . He was what I would call a gentleman of the Motorsport industry a very rare breed . Director of FPV Rod also took up the mantle of Director of the Ford GTHO Lot 6 Foundation ... His speech at our official launch With president of the Ford Motor company Minister of Education and representatives of both The Kangan institute and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology R M I T was inspirational and solidified our ambitious goals . We would like to say thank you to all our guests for attending the event and your incredible support and enthusiasm - especially those who brought their cars from interstate and locally. We are working on an event for our supporters for the latter part of the year and sincerely hope you can be involved .......details to follow shortly. Our limited edition Lot 6 signed posters are now in work and available for delivery during the month February. Our first release poster of the original canvases "THE BEGINNING OF AN ERA" has almost run its course we have 15 left . 03.01.2022 We are all very saddened by the passing of John Wynne who was a key team member of the Ford GTHO Lot 6 crew. Chief Engineer at Lot 6, Ian Stockings, described Wynney as an awesome master craftsman who could perform sheer magic in sheet metal and fabrication. His hand work always looked like it had been machine made. His talent was extraordinary and seemed to have no limits in all aspects of race car build and preparation AND, he was a fantastic person for whom all of us had ...just the greatest respect and affection for. John had been working at Ford Australia in Geelong and was recommended to Al Turner as a potentially valuable addition to the new racing team. John had already built a reputation manufacturing JMW racing cars with his then late father and was truly a powerhouse of knowledge and wisdom in all things on car preparation, and mentor to those of us younger that needed his wise counsel. On behalf of the Lot 6 crew we extend our sincere condolences to the Wynne family on their sad loss.

The original secret location where the GTHO was built. So many of the legends will be there, cars, an incredible auction, a gallery of GTHO treasures, food, drinks and a big screen to watch the race. 01.01.2022 Its been a long time since we had reason to celebrate and today its finally here. The Ford GTHO Lot 6 Foundation in conjunction with the Elite Automotive group, are hosting the 50th anniversary celebration of the GTHO on Sunday the 13th of October 2019 , Bathurst race day ! In Melbourne! It will be held at Lot 6 the original birthplace of the racing HOs at 224 Mahoneys Rd Thomastown.... This is a fund raising event and a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a truly unique special event . All funds raised go to providing a a young candidate to develop a career in Motorsport at the highest level F1 , through the Kangan and RMIT institutes. The event will be attended by the surviving members of the original Lot 6 crew, drivers & Ford personnel. A Q & A taking you back to those heady days is on the agenda. There will be a ground kissing ceremony and a plaque laid. The 2019 Bathurst race will be screened on our 3 metre x 2 metre on the day. We hope to have a stack GTHOs to fire up the celebrations! A Shannons auctioneer will auction off the 3 canvases that were all signed by The Lot 6 crew back in 2009 for the 40th anniversary and other special memorabilia. A 5 metre x 2 metre scalextric track replicating Mt Panorama will be on display , so guests can try their luck battling it out around the mountain. There will be a timed tyre changing competition........Pitt style ..... the old fashioned way...... with a wheel brace. PRIZES TO BE WON. There will be an MC for the day and a navigator to assist you throughout the day . Enjoy the whole day and be immersed in all things GTHO Lot 6. This is a family friendly event. Morning tea and coffee will be served as well as a sit down lunch, afternoon tea A Bar is also available. The cost of entry for the day is $250 per head available to all corporates and GT club members, and the general public. PACKAGE 1 There is also a $350 VIP Package including a signed commemorative T-Shirt and cap, official Pitt crew armband as worn by the Lot 6 crew at Bathurst back in the day. PACKAGE 2.
