25.01.2022 I recently posted that our new Airbnb will be available soon. But here is a sneak peak of the inside...so pleased with how it looks

23.01.2022 Recently, I was contacted by a lady called Kate from the Octopus Group in association with the Darlington Point Solar Farm asking if I could assist in putting some Care Packages together for them. These packages were to be given out to people in the community who have been doing it a bit tough during this time of isolation. It was a lovely idea by the Solar Farm to give back to the Darlington Point and Coleambally communities, that many of their workers have become a part o...f. Kate contacted a number of local businesses to souce items for the Care Packages, giving local businesses a much needed boast at this time as well. The Care packages contained food items such as pasta and soup (Davis Supermarket), pasta sauce, honey (Saxvik Honey), jam (Prickle Hill), Olive Oil (Yarrow Park), home made soaps (Tulloc), a lovely facewasher (Corinne's Creations) gift vouchers from Central Garage and either Tim's Meats of Heath's Butchery. A hand written note was placed in with all the Care Packages from Octopus Investments and the DP Solar Farm. A big thank you to all these business houses for delivering all their items to Hygge in such quick time. The Care Packages were then delivered by Murrumbidgee Council Coleambally's Sheree and Kerrie or Darlington Points Cindy and Kylie Heath. All the ladies reported back that the Care Packages were all really well received and that the recipients were very grateful. Thank you again to Octopus Investments and the Darlington Point Solar Farm for such a kind idea at this difficult time. See more

23.01.2022 As part of the CoVid-19 restrictions Hygge will be closing our lounge area for in house food and beverage service. We will still be able to serve take away food and beverages as normal. Hygge will reopen on Wednesday 25th with these new restrictions in place. Thank you Kylie & Ross.

23.01.2022 In Stock NOW! The awesome Red Tractor 2021 Calendars will be in store soon. If you would like to make sure you get one, please call me at Hygge and I will set one aside for you.

22.01.2022 Just a reminder that we are still taking donations for our Christmas Hampers to be distributed to people doing it tough throughout Darlington Point and Coleambally. Donations of long life food, cleaning products, anything useful really is most welcome.

20.01.2022 I seriously do not know what it is going to take to get people to do the right thing at this time. We see all these Covididiots in the City demonstrating, attending parties, standing in queues to get into night clubs, heading over the Victorian border like Lemmings off a cliff and we think, pffff City People! Two words people, SOCIAL DISTANCING!! 30 kids playing in the skate park and people sitting in pubs around bar tables practically shoulder to shoulder is not SOCIAL DI...STANCING!! Many businesses will not survive another lockdown, businesses will go broke, jobs, your jobs, will be lost and support from the Government to keep things afloat, can not and WILL not keep going indefintely, but this damn Virus will if people do not wake up to themselves.

20.01.2022 As some of you may have seen, we are well underway with the renovation of the flat behind Hygge Living & More. A huge thank you to our wonderful builder Alan Rossetto and the team of PROFESSIONAL tradesman who have worked on this project. The flat will look amazing when it is finished. If we have learned one thing from this reno, it is that some people should NEVER be allowed near a hammer or near any sort of renovation. It has cost us a small fortune fixing the work done by other people who THINK they are builders. Would be builders might sound cheap initially, but beware, it will cost you in the long run.

20.01.2022 Are you one of the ladies who never knows what clothes suit you...I know I am. Well Hygge and stylist Julia Greiner from Crops and Sequins Styling, will be running a 'Find Your Style Workshop' on Saturday May 1st from 2.30 - 4.30pm. The workshop will show you how to dress for your body shape, how to make your wardrobe work harder, understanding colours and much more. Tickets $20 per head. Please call Julia on 0468 637 720 to book your ticket as spaces are limited

19.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to CLOSE Hygge Living & More. It is simply not viable for us to keep open at this time. We gave it a good shot and we hoped to be able to ride out the storm, but overheads are far exceeding our income and further COVID -19 restrictions are impacting too severely. Thanks for all your support and let's all look forward to a positive future. Kylie & Ross Askin

19.01.2022 Today I received a lovely thank you letter from Lisa Simpson the Executive Officer of Ronald McDonald House in Wagga thanking me for our donation of $250, that I recently donated to them. A BIG THANK YOU to all our loyal customers and your generous donations in our tip jar that make these valued donations to charities possible.

17.01.2022 We are desperately trying to get a Chamber of Commerce organised in DP. This will be separate to the other towns in the Murrumbidgee Shire. Coly has had one for many years and Jerilderie is well on the way to organising one there. The initial meeting had a good roll up of people, several who showed interest in being part of the Chamber. Sadly though since then, other than 2 people, no-one has turned up for three subsequent ZOOM meetings. It would be a shame if DP is the ...only town in the Shire without such a group assisting business and benefitting the whole community. Surely more than one retail business in town can be bothered being involved. So if you are a retail business, on-line business, accommodation business, tourist business, own a business of any description, get involved. The next meeting will be held at the punt on Thursday 19th November (6.30PM 7.15PM) for a proposed establishment meeting. This is likely to be the last meeting to be held to try and get this established, so don't let DP be the only town in the Shire to not have such a resource, get off it and come along and be involved.

17.01.2022 REQUIRED URGENTLY!! I URGENTLY need a tiler to tile 10m2 of tiles in a bathroom/laundry (tiles provided, plain tile, no pattern matching). We need a quote and then the job to be done ASAP as it is now holding up the rest of the work to be done. May have to do a crash course on tiling myself if all else fails...

17.01.2022 Now more than ever small businesses need your support. We are being told that this Coronavirus issue is likely to continue through to Spring, as we head into our normal winter and cold and flu season. Please support your local businesses, cause if you don't, they may not be there when all this is over with. Many businesses are seeing a reduction in activity into their stores. Personally, I think that the influx of grey nomads that we start to see at this time of year, wi...ll be significantly reduced. Many may chose to take a more coastal route on the journey up north, so that they can support the fire affected areas and many others may simply chose to stay at home in these uncertain times. If you are not happy eating in public areas, you can always grab a take away coffee and cake, select a FREE book from our range of books and head home for a relaxing afternoon. Hope to continue to see our LOYAL customers...thank you See more

13.01.2022 Yesterday I attended the launch of the Riverina Trails Tourism Book at the Whitton Malt House. Firstly, congratulations to the four councils involved in pulling together such a great book. The photo's were all of good quality and the graphic design of the booklet itself pleased the heart and the eyes of this past Advertising Executive. It looks professional and above all inviting. Secondly, the Whitton Malt House!! What an amazing job the gang out there have pulled togethe...r. Sheer style and class all the way. It is clear to see the passion that has gone into building this business. And this was no more apparent than taking a guided tour with Kate O'Callaghan and seeing her vision and pride in what has been created. The combination to have fine dining in the area and superb accommodation is truly remarkable. We are very lucky to have such an asset on our doorstep. See more

05.01.2022 It is great to see that Murrumbidgee Council is finally actively looking to 'beautify' our town and the wonderful Samantha Star will be involved in this process. I have been trying to get this done for several years, so I am so excited that it is finally being looked at. If you have any ideas, please bring them into Hygge and I will be more than happy to pass them on to Sam.

04.01.2022 So, we held another meeting last night to try and get the Business Chamber up and going and the good news is, that we had enough people turn up to the meeting who are interested in getting this all going. In the next few weeks, permanent Director positions will be confirmed and a board appointed. It is not too late if you would like to be part of the Business Chamber. A big thank you to Tania Stone for her efforts so far in getting this up and going and for arranging last nights ZOOM meeting with Rick Dunn.
