23.01.2022 "Just a glimpse of how your organs accommodate another human.

21.01.2022 Isn't this incredible This amazing organ is your uterus. It is shown here, connected to your ovaries. Almost all women are born with this wonderful organ, ye...t most of us, have never really seen one. It is typically about about 7 cm long and 5 cm wide. The uterus works hard, and for a long part of our lives, is almost always busy. This organ expands more than 100 times its size to house a fetus. Each month it self-destructs, shedding and re-building its lining, and through this, it eliminates menstruation due to contractions. Menstrual pain, is therefore pain of the uterus, not ovaries. It can support up to 150 times its own weight. It is the only organ capable of creating another organ: Placenta. It is connected to you. If you get stressed, it gets stressed, if you relax, it relaxes. In that same organ, life is shared, because there are women who with that organ, gave life to up to 15 children. It is the second heart of a mother, because it is there, she forms the hearts of her children. See more

14.01.2022 "Look at that beautiful umbilical cord! When a baby is born, anywhere from 25-60% of their blood supply remains in the placenta. Waiting to clamp the umbilical ...cord, even for just 30-60 seconds after birth, allows the placenta to pulse this extra blood to the baby. What does this mean for them? What are the benefits? This extra blood contains iron, mostly in the form of red blood cells. This grants babies up to an extra 6 months of precious iron stores and lowers their risk of anemia. Studies have also shown that having anemia early in life has been linked with later cognitive and motor delays. These delays do not seem to completely reverse with subsequent iron supplementation. For the maximum benefits, the ACOG recommends waiting the full 3 minutes to clamp/cut the cord! And don't worry birth partners, you still get your moment to shine!! Just a few minutes down the line. 11.01.2022 In the late 1700s, Charles Darwin's grandfather, Erasmus Darwin, a respected doctor said this: Another thing very injurious to the child, is the tying and cutting of the navel string too soon; which should always be left till the child has not only repeatedly breathed but till all pulsation in the cord ceases. As otherwise the child is much weaker than it ought to be, a portion of the blood being left in the placenta, which ought to have been in the child
