25.01.2022 I have started volunteering one day a fortnight at the local Visitors Centre. Yesterday we had a tour of the Stirling and the Porongurup Ranges to look for wild flowers. Here are a few I found :)

24.01.2022 Just recently I was given 3 CD's of beautiful photos and great information about my forefathers from a distant relative. Thanks to Barbara Melvin I have just found the funniest coincident. We are both descended from Thomas Willey. I have just learnt that Thomas was amongst the first to arrive at Flinders Bay with John Bussell and John Molloy in 1830. A couple of years ago I was asked by a friend to put an image of a ship they had already built together with the empty playgr...ound at Flinder Bay so that the community could see if they would like to have it there. They won the contract from the pamphlet I created and built the ship. I now realise the ship is there to represent the ship that Thomas landed in . 17.01.2022 That’s it, folks. All our tables are reserved now, for our future. For our children’s, our parents, neighbours’ future. We can open tomorrow, but take away only.... Please take the social distancing seriously. Thinking of starting home delivery. What do you think?? If we can’t have enough take away business, we will need to close down, for good. Soo many thoughts are rumbling around in my head. What will our regulars do, who are coming in for the socialising, chats, to escape from loneliness? The ones rely on us. What will we do. How will we feed our children. Should we take them out of school. What else can we do to help the spread of this plague. To stay positive. Let’s have a cup of tea, let’s take a deep breath. Stay positive, stay kind. See you tomorrow.

17.01.2022 Chilli and I accomplished a successful rescue today in the van. We saw this little guy get hit by a car, he didn’t look good with his wings all bent out of sorts on the road twitching. I managed to get back to him in time to stop a big tractor a few more cars from running him over just outside Albany. I popped him on the seat and straightened out his wings. He was bleeding from above his beak. We headed to town and he just hung there with Chilli while I got chores done. He looked a bit brighter and clambered up onto the back of the seat. So after 20 minutes and seeing he seemed better we took him to the bush behind where he had the accident. Asked him if he wanted to get out there or come back with us to Kendenup. After a few moments he flew up into the trees. I’m glad he did, better that he’s with his friends and family

16.01.2022 It is a good time to up skill whilst having to stay indoors.
