21.01.2022 Meet the Candidates at Tugun Progress Hall last week. I talked about my goal to significantly reduce politicians' pay and also the controversial issue of transportation which affects so many Gold Coasters. Light or heavy rail. Would appreciate your feedback and views on this.
08.01.2022 This is a very unusual election. The economic consequences of any political party government's current actions will only become clear next year...AND THEY WILL BE BAD! Everyone, including me, has to rethink how to vote this time. ALL governments get MOST TAXES from the mid sections of the workforce, because that's where the largest number of taxpayers are. Even if you take every penny off the rich in this crisis it will barely scratch the surface when spread around. Similarly..., the lower paid pay no tax, so it's the home owner and those working hard who can be taxed. So WATCH OUT; right now all politicians and oppositions are looking at GAINS TAXES ON HOMES, DEATH DUTIES and MAYBE take away STATE PENSIONS from those also with a good SUPER ! Believe me, they have to, because even with all this free money cascading down, SOMEONE has to PAY to FUND IT! Which means TAX! Negative gearing will also have to be looked at, like it or not. Bluntly put, the chickens are finally coming home to roost, so I urge everyone (I am myself struggling with this) to not just vote as they normally would and consider alternatives. My campaign is based across party lines because I believe it is only right that ALL politicians should take a significant pay cut to set an example. For example, forgetting his politics, is it acceptable that Bob Carr 15 years after being a Premier, last year took about $400,000 OF YOUR MONEY in allowances, as his right? Just imagine how many millions a year for decades these people have been sucking you dry!! IT'S GOT TO STOP AND IT WON'T UNLESS YOU SEND A MESSAGE !! VOTE FOR ME ! IAN LOGAN See more
03.01.2022 Although I never worked there, I am seething and appalled at the way both major Political parties have treated Virgin Australia. This should make it very hard ...for anyone to vote for either LNP or Labour, who works, worked for, or who has family that worked for Virgin. If I was one of those I don't think I would vote for either of them ever again. Just consider the LNP Federal Government has committed a confetti of $500 billion, that's BILLION, 11 noughts, of YOUR money to spread around, but quite prepared to see Virgin go bankrupt, when it would have taken only 3 Billion, not much more than 1/2 % of the 500 to take it over, keep it running as an asset and sell it again in a few years at a profit. Believe me that is what the USA Group Bain Capital intends, having forced employees to take draconian measures, solely so they can walk away with hundreds of millions in a few years time themselves. Meanwhile the QLD Labour Government has committed $200million to Bain for a mosdest stake, just to keep the headquarters in QLD, but no care for Virgin workers either. Answer to voters wondering what to do, ALL VIRGIN associated people and ancilliary workers...Vote for me !! Could it be that 1. there are "ONLY" 11,000 employees nation wide, so they don't matter for getting reelected, or 2. LNP being philosophically anti government ownership, simply wouldn't take it on for that reason, despite this an unprecedented crisis. Who cares about the employees. Let's not forget, IT IS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT POLICIES FOR COVID WHICH HAVE CAUSED THIS BANKRUPTCY, NOT THE AIRLINE! DISGUSTING. Again, VOTE FOR ME! Equally, we have that dreadful organisation CASA, Australia's sham Civil Aviation Authority, who allowed themselves to be pushed into a corner and accept longer working days and sectors some years ago, than were previously considered safe limits! They were supposed to look after YOU the PEOPLE and make sure flight crews were not too tired to operate with YOU as passengers. Not anymore! They will just point to a SHAM Fatigue Management System in each airline, supposedly looking after that. Anyone who ever worked in aviation knows their sole objective is more and more work, they simply only care about more work for minimum pay they can get away with. Finally, what do you think will happen to FARES,now QANTAS is the ONLY INTERNATIONAL operator in Australia? Go DOWN-------OF COURSE!! Yeh-----Right !!!
