09.01.2022 Just one week to go until Exercise Right week!! 24th-30th May 2021 This years theme is "Exercise changes lives". Next week we will be featuring some stories from our clients who are excited to share with us! ... I thought to kick things off I would start by sharing how exercise has changed my life. I wasn't an active kid and I wasn't very confident. I began exercising with some friends regularly when I was around 19 years old at the gym. I loved it so much I was inspired to become a personal trainer. Working in that field inspired me to turn my passion into a career as an Exercise Physiologist and work with people to improve their health and wellbeing. I gained confidence in myself, courage to try new things (starting team sports as an adult was a big one), I've made lots of friends, and I am constantly inspired by the people I work with and have met through this journey over the past 15 years; and it all started with some friends inviting me to a gym class. That's my story in a nutshell, I can't wait to hear yours!! - Amy Rose (AEP) #exerciserightweek #exercisechangeslives

That lack of movement hurts your back, expands your waistline and increases your risk of many very serious diseases. ... 02.01.2022 Gyms are finally reopening but after a few months off it’s important to remember you may not be able to pick up where you left off. We recommend easing back into your routine to minimise your risk of injury, you can do this by: 1. Start slowly and focus on getting back into a routine with exercise you enjoy Trying to do too much right away can overwhelm you both physically and mentally.... 2. Consistency is key to your success commit to an achievable number of sessions each week that feels comfortable initially. After a few weeks you can build on your progress. 3. Add a warm up and cool down to each workout It will help to reduce your risk of injury and leave you energised at the end of the workout. 4. Fuel your body accordingly: you may notice that with the increase in exercise comes the increase in hunger and cravings. Fuel your body with a well-balanced diet to accommodate this. 5. Focus on how it makes you feel: remind yourself that the most important thing about exercise is how it makes you feel, rather than how it can make you look. If you are experiencing any pain or discomfort contact us on 02 6162 0450 to see how we can help. #neurospace #easingbackintogym #healthyliving #healthtips #gymtips #physio #gyminjury #gymphysio #exercisephysiology
